Back when I was younger, I knew this one girl that hated Prince, threw out the usual comments like "Prince is Gay". She was also a Tom Jones fan. She thought Kiss rocked! She didn't actually realize there was a connection. 
I'm not looking for geniuses, but come on people, don't say you are a music fan at all unless you have a minimal comprehension of it. Very minimal. "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. I've heard the same about Nothing Compares 2 U as well! Oh yeah, for sure! At least that song was a bigger hit for Sinead than Prince, so I can forgive people for that one. haha coincidentally maybe but friday night i was talking to my uncles new wife who tries every way to find something in commen with me (note i don't really care for her) well i told her I was a HUGE prince fan and then our conversation went..
(Her name is Nikki) Nikki - "You listen to Prince? Oh! Me too I am the BIGGEST Prince fan! I used to listen to him as a kid. I have every single one of his cd's! Have you ever heard Darling Nikki? I love that song it's so good. I have the album it's on too, Little Red Corvette!" Me - "hmm, you're mistaken. Little Red Corvette is a song on 1999. Darling Nikki is a song on the Soundtrack Purple Rain also featured on Prince's Movie." Nikki - "Prince has a movie?" Me - "YOU'VE NEVER SEEN PURPLE RAIN?" Nikki - "No, have you?" Me - "I own it. His good looks are just an added bonus. His music is poetry. He is a true musician/artist so dedicated that I can't help admiring him. Gold is my soul tattoo.
