Sorry, but I can't be one to cheer you up any. Honestly, if you showed me I wouldn't think much of them either. I just think it's silly to get a music tattoo, for the simple reason that even though you're diehard enough now to think getting the logo or name or symbol or whichever etched permanently onto you is a good idea, you may not always be. The same way you may be so completely in love with your significant other now, but split up two years from now. Most people would agree that getting ink of your SO is a dumb idea, so why should getting ink for a band you like be any different?
But hey, it's your bod and your fandom. If you're happy with it that's all that really matters. I suggest you ignore people like me. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

pasquerto said: Ok I need a little pep talk from someone..... I have three tatoos...one Tom Petty and two Prince....I have the symbol outlined between my shoulders (bra level) and a bar of music from "sweet baby" wrapped around my hip. Anywhoo I LOVE them and put a ton of consideration into making the choice to get these but now I see the look on peoples faces when they see them. It's not acceptance it's more like Damn this girl is stupid....I always say I don't regret them but the shit I'm getting is bringing me down two years is starting to get to me. Any words for me....on this rainy day I sure could use some!
don't be ashamed... Prince tattoos r sexy

Maybe they were laughing because the symbol is a cliché.
Ain't no imagination in marking yourself with something someone else made up and that a gazillion other people have. Sorry. [Edited 4/16/07 7:05am] We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

But I don't understand the "literal-ness" of a lot of tattoos. Names, faces, etc. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I've had the symbol tattoo on my arm since the symbol cd was released, but i really want to cover it up now.. as you can see from avatar i have a couple on
my back.... i want to do a partial sleave... but the reason i want to cover it up has nothing to do with anyone not liking it... I just want something else
