Originally I came here because as a Prince fan I happend upon the link and had to check it out.

I've stayed for more reasons than one but here's 3.
#1 - I learn ALOT more than I ever knew about Prince mainly from here.
#2 - Where I'm from and the town I live in there is not one single person I have met that is anywhere near like me. And EVERYONE here is pretty much.

#3 - The people here are so genuine and nice! I get along with most everyone I've met here and it's a breath of fresh air compared to the people here.

And I agree! Props to this site! It is truly well kept and handled and very organized! The Mods here and the people here have done a tremendous job welcoming me, and keeping this place in great standards!

I come on here to check up on any new Prince news, reports, sightings, concert info. etc. No one else I know in person is a fan, this just helps to keep me updated. And, it's good for a laugh

I'm glad I found this place early on in my journey. And hearing the experiences of others teaches me more about Prince than I could have learned from listening to his music on my own.

I discovered this site when I was googling Prince a couple of years ago. I loved the mix of facts/knowledge and entertainment/fun. I learned so much about Prince while reading the different threads. And eventually, last year I decided that I don't want to keep my mouth shut, I want to be able to chat with the people here (Zelaira and Krystal were 2 of them) and ask questions. I don't know anyone who really cares about P and his music. So I joined. And I don't regret it one bit.

Mostly for information- when will new material will come out, when he will be on TV, stuff like that.

My reason for spending any time here at all is simple...I have some good friends in this world, but not a single person (my wife included) understands my obsessive interest in Prince. As a matter of fact, they don't feel strongly about ANY musical artist. I'm the only one in my circle for whom music means more than just some entertaining background noise. They don't get worked up over whether or not music is sampled or created organically or whether the artist writes his/her own lyrics or plays instruments. They judge music song by song and like or dislike songs according to acquired tastes.

When I first came on here, it was so amazing to meet folks like yourselves who think of things like I do. I don't claim to obsess over Prince nearly as much as some of you do. I own every studio release (and many...ahem..."not" studio releases ) but I don't have Prince tatoos and my life won't let me spend hours in here a day.

The point is that when I DO get on here, I'm reading posts from people who CARE. Who ARE into it. Who have an opinion. Sometimes we get WAAAY too worked up about certain things we chat about. Often, we seem unhealthily obsessed with Prince and being here makes me feel like our priorities are skewed. But ALWAYS, I'm happy to be around folks like you...folks who CARE about music and Prince!

I wish I could be on here more. I wish I could hang out at the monthly Prince gathering in Chicago, which I attended once a long time ago and met some of you who are so awesome and then haven't had the chance to meet again. But in the meantime, you'll see me here now and again and I'm always glad to have logged in.

Both reasons, really. I love Prince and I'm always interested in the latest news on him and his music (as well as facts about him from the past). At the same time I've made some cool friends along the way.

Also this site gives me the chance to voice my opinions about other things like New Wave, left-wing politics, and the different trial and tribulations of my life.
