I was working in Eden Prairie yesterday (the town next to Chanhassen) and I heard the rumors of Prince's house being torn down so I thought I would take the 5 minute drive over to where he lives. I drove up to the house yesterday and it is completely gone...the gate and the security house is still up (no one was in it but there was a mountain bike lying next to it) but you can see so clearly that there is nothing but open land at the top of the hill.

Has anyone heard anything to the reason why it is gone and if he is going to rebuild?

Paisley Park was looking good...there was no cars in the parking lot but the gate was open (I didn't go in). The egg shape thing next to it needs to be torn down. You can tell it wasn't made of the same imported material Paisley Park was made of...if you look on the side of it, the material is falling off and it looks like it is about 100 years old.

It sure seemed weird that it was gone...I remember going there in 5th grade (1988) and seeing it. Man...I hope the brotha didn't leave.

I know a lot of people think it's due to the divorce, but I'm more likely to believe he was just ready for a new house and didn't want to sell the old one- possibly to someone who might want it just because it was his. He did the same thing with the last house- first gave it to his father, then tore it down so no one else would have it. In a way, you can't blame him, someone could buy it and start offering "tours to Prince's inner sanctum" or some shit.
