New Songs

Lots of activity going on right now... new songs being played in Vegas, good publicity, teasers on 3121.com promising something new... seems like a good era that's gonna be remembered and talked about a lot in the future.

Feel Better, Feel Good, Feel Wonderful
All Along the Watchtower / Best Of U
Guitar
Somewhere Here on Earth
Shadows and Chain
Planet Earth

We don't even know whether Planet Earth is a new song yet, do we? And Feel Better Feel Wonderful was put out before 3121 came out, it is hardly a new song.

I tend to feel this is a pretty bad era! Never have I experienced so little new music over such a long period, I mean, 2 years between albums twice now. Unless you are getting over to Vegas on a regular basis, there isn't much happening for your average Prince fan right now.

OK - if those are indeed new songs, they're 100% incompatible with each other for an album. FB,FG,FW and Guitar would fit nicely together, but IMO the AATW/Best Of U is in another category altogether. And Planet Earth sounds too promising to EVER be on an album with "Guitar".

If these songs made it onto the same album, it will sound more mishmashed than Crystal Ball.

See, we got spoiled! 2-3 years is the normal time between albums for almost all other artists!

Those are artists who play the corporate game. One of the reasons why P left Warners was so he could release music on his timeline, according to his whim.
We just thought that meant MORE music... confused
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

And most other artists aren't writing songs everyday and don't have a ton of other songs still not released!

Shadows and Chain is kind of a "Strange Relationship" mixed with "Family Name" mixed with something else... has part of "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac in it.. very cool song
