Yeah, so I am.

I'm still discovering the magic that it has. I have yet to decide it's really my favorite of the ones I own or not. I just know that it's in the running for first place. [Then again, I really don't like picking favorites becuz I love all of my albums 4 diff. reasons]

Purple Rain is its rival... kinda how the title rack and Gold are tied 4 first place as my favorite Prince song.

After seeing 'Love 4 One Another' for a 2nd time, this time with a little more knowledge on Prince and his music, I dunno...
Gold probably is my favorite song with Purple Rain as a close 2nd.

As far as I'm concerned, TGE is worth buying just for that one song. But there are plenty of other good ones on there. I've got a basic idea what it's about and Prince takes u through the most unique and incredible experience through his pleasure center (aka: sex drive), heart & soul. It's very uplifting and I see it as a spiritual album. Each track has a piece of what Prince is ultimately searching 4, and he finds it in "Gold".

Whenever I hear it, I feel like we have a special connection. When I saw him perform it in that movie just now... there's something diff. about him. He seems almost "God"ly to me the way he appears. I feel like I can barely call him Prince because that name doesn't quite cover what I see. That's where prince comes in.

Basically, prince = Prince reborn.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy TGE as I just did after listening thru it just a few hours ago.

Yeah, they are. There's something to like about all of them.

I'll probably have to listen 2 "Now" again to see if there's something I like in it. I don't listen it cuz I find it overall pointless and it doesnt fit into the scheme of things (the way I see it anyway).

I didnt know what to think of the album at first cuz I tried comparing it to PR & Musicology right away, but shouldnt have. It is SO DIFFERENT.

Plus, it's the first time I heard Prince rap, speak in gangsta/ghetto (w/e you wanna call it, basically a foreign language to me), and openly curse. Everything about it (except for Gold) was new to me, so I guess I was a little afraid of it.
But a chain reaction initated a week or so ago (thanx to Prince himself), so I listened to it again and I found its inner message.
I listened to it today and it's very uplifting, puts a smile on my face because I feel like Prince is being so open in it, basically bearing his soul. Ha, with that said, no wonder its hard to get away from.

I didnt like Endorphinmachine all that much in the beginning, but cuz its essiental to the scheme of things, I basically have to listen to it. Now it's pretty much grown on me lol TGE grew on me. A lot of people find it hard to believe that I didn't connect with it the first time like they have. But they need to keep in mind that I'm still a newbie (a serious fan for 2 months now) and there were a lot of firsts for me in that album.

As a whole, it's not quite as strong as PR, but the scheme of things I see in it make it very strong in its own right.

Dolphin is my favorite. It helped me through some tough and confusing times when I was in Jr. High. I know, I know, I'm young! lol

Shy is probably my second favorite. I've always wanted to hear a version of it without the samples. The guitar work is great.

I connected with the TGE instantly, funny...

Musicology had to grow on me tho....

I love Endorphinmachine, I heart fallinluv his scream near the end, gives me the chills.....

Gold is real nice at the end of the disc.

I'm already hooked and I just got it in the mail today lol

I love the fact that P's music has so much variety...he's such a musical genius, can't wait to see him in May in SF!

Man this is one of my favorite Prince albums. Pure fun and energy with this album. Prince was on fire with this one. I wish it got the props it deserved but hey, we're here to do it so it's all good. With songs like P Control, Endorphinmachine, Dolphin, Shy, Billy Jack Bitch, I Hate U and Gold on it, how can any Prince fan hate this CD? TGE kicks serious ass! I know it kicks mine. lol

Well said. Maybe it was just so powerful that I was afraid of that power and took a 2-week or so break from it after listening to it the first 2 times.

One thing that I really like about it is that it has BALANCE. Each track has at least one other to balance it out, and for me, it helps me focus on the main theme of Prince's self-discovery thru sex, heart & soul.
P. Control & Gold are great starts and finishes. I can't stop raving about Gold cuz I have a unique personal connection with it.
Endorphinmachine grew on me cuz I always play it since Shh balances things out really well (Shh has some great guitar in it guitar ).
We March kinda adds a bit of spirituality, b4 taking off to "the beautiful experience" with TMBGITW (love the keyboards in the ending) & Dolphin (great guitar and Prince really bears his soul with this one).
319 makes me laugh with Prince's little antics, and Shy helps balance things out.
Eye Hate U is classic, nothing else is like it. Again, great guitar towards the end.

I love the instrumentals on the album becuz there's nothing else like it in any other album I own.

Definitely one of my favorites...

I've come up with a basic list of 20 Prince songs I regard as my favorites because I see them as "above the rest". They stand out to me. I don't have an official order as of yet, but Eye Hate U made that list... along with quite a few tracks from this album.

It might be a little early to say this, but I think its my favorite out of the ones I own.
