The Prince Instrumentals

From his first, fleshed-out instrumentals up to his latest experiments in music; PROPS!

I just started assembling his instrumental stuff into a playlist and I cannot be anything but amazed. Okay, some stuff stand out way more than the other stuff, but still.

The 77 Loren Park Sessions
Wet Dream Cousin, not really intended as such, but still fun.
God (instrumental)
Alexa De Paris
Venus De Milo
The Family unstrumentals; YES!
Madhouse 6 & 8 with remixes and b-sides and 24, of course.
Them Sheila E songs; Too Sexy and Shortberry Strawcake (both amazing)
Euphoria Highway (wish I had a good version of that)
The instrumental Question Of U's
Eric Leeds' Times Squared (his best instrumental stuff, I think, cuz it has got a great team to back it up)
N.E.W.S.
The X album (which to me is a bit TOO lite, to be honest)
And the stuff that falls in between the cracks; Get Some Solo, 2 Nigs United 4 West Compton etc.

Is there stuff I overlooked? I can still add parts of rehearsel jams like Billy Sunglasses too...

Another Lonely Xmas is a rehearsel, right? Like I said; there is SO much there, I haven't had time to dive into THAT extensive pool.

Sensual Everafter, hehehe. I kinda never THOUGHT about that album, as I dislike it SO severely that I often get angry just listening to it. I am a very lyrically obsessed person and seeing Prince being so closed minded about worldly stuff still makes me sad, so sad. And angry, cuz alot of the stuff he spews on TRC is SO igigigigignorant.

Anyways, lemme try again to listen to it.

Sensual Everafter... it is kinda nice, but that voice... grrrr

And that segue made me open up my editing program. Editing it as I type.

There's a few more unreleased instrumentals like Wet Dream Cousin.

Thinking of the "Climax", and the instrumental version of Possessed, and another one from a similar period, erm, Lust U Always (??)

Oh, and the instrumentals from 'Dream Factory', 'Visions' and t'other.

Uhm, I got them outtakes you mention on my list.

Them instrumentals from Dream Factory you mention are actually solo performances by or Wendy or Lisa, so they do not really qualify.

I included the Times Squared performances because Prince OR wrote the track OR is on it. They go with the flow.

ah yes, arboretum, that's a nice one too!

and the contest song original instrumental

and ehm, i don't know any other stuff lol.

although you could cut the coda off "The Rainbow Children", which will
leave you with a very cool instrumental. i think it's like the last 3
minutes of the title song.

And you know me, edit-freak, as I came across Thirteen And 1/4 by Madhouse and even though I loooove the original; it sounds slowed down.

Speeding it up as I type.
