We Gon Make It Funky

I'm at [Do NOT post links to Prince videos snip no no no! - luv4u] and I'm watching Maceo Parker and Prince killing it on "We Gon Make It Funky". Prince's rhythm guitar playing is outstanding and out of this world. Sometimes his rhythm playing in jam sessions like this is more amazing than when he is playing lead.Just from watching this if you are not a Prince fan you would assume he honed that from his r&b roots but there are plenty of lead guitarists in rock bands that can mind solo runs, but no wonder this cat is great at playing lead. His voicing, and sense of rhythm and instinct is second to none. If he can play this well on his CD's that would be a bonus.

Don't think it'll be there long. This video (and the audio from it) were officially released by NPGMC back on Nov. 20th 2001 - as the premium subscription-only tracks, if I remember right.

Great track - if anyone hasn't heard it, go watch/listen before it gets taken down lol
