i thought that his opening obligatory rendition of Lets Go Crazy was lacking, but it all kicked into life with Proud Mary. The guitar solos were not what you would expect from Prince, but then, what would you do in front of eighty-thousand-million-and-a-half people? Or indeed 42. Or whatever...

Not at all.

I found it, if anything, simply amazing. It put the past 2 HalfTime performances to shame... and I didnt even like them to begin with.

I was only a casual, every-now-and-then "follower" of Prince previous to that.

If it was anything short of spectacular, I wouldn't be here today.

Becuz of it, I thought, "maybe I should look on line and check out some of Prince's older music". I found a good site with good videos and I eventually came here.

Been a serious "follower" ever since. I think that performance every day cuz I love being here.

His performance of "Purple Rain" put me over the top, simply amazing.

I thought it was good. Not earth shattering awesome. But he did a good job and he got some good press from it.

I really don't understand some o' ya'll disbelief... I watched it live and then two more times to give it another chance, but, it didn't get any better. I can honestly say that it was one of my least favorite performances. One of the reasons... I don't like it when he does covers.

I thought Lets Go Crazy was bad. It didn't kick off like it should have for some reason and, I don't know, the lyrics are getting a little dated. But then again I was watching with someone who had barely seen the guy in 20 years and loved every minute of LGC so maybe it's just me being a fan.

Best of You was absolutely awesome, I remember getting shivers down my spine when the symbol lit up like that and he started singing it. That got him good press here in Australia too because it was a hit here. The guitar sounded fantastic in All Along The Watchtower too.

As for Purple Rain.....absolutely speechless. Again, I got shivers down my spine when the first few notes started up. I was really glad he took the bandana thingy off for that too. The guitar solo sounded incredible and I was glad he did the "hoo hoos" lol because I thought he might not..

So, I don't agree with the original poster but I will say it didn't have the best start. Oh and the twins continually going out of time annoyed the sh!t outta me.
