Masina, here's what I know.
1- No official reasons have been stated as of the divorce between Prince and Mayte but rumors were spread that Mani was getting too close which made Mayte leave the house.
2- Prince is carrying a Pfeiffer syndrome in his genes. It's a rare skull disease that prevents the skull from developping and therefore the brain for maturing. That boy named "Gregory" died 8 days later when Prince and Mayte agreed to take him off life support.

Mayte was deeply affected and couldn't get over it for a long time. Prince, on the other hand, decided to work hard on his music to heal. They both handled crisis differently and caused them to break up.
