Which P album is the most similar to "Revolver"

It doesn't matter if you love them or hate them, the Beatles hit the all time high with the "Revolver" album. That joint is 41 years old, but when you put it on, it sounds like it was recorded yesterday. Songwriting is incredible and the experimentation on it was important for every record that came after it.

Now which P album do you think resembles "Revolver" the most?

I was thinking "Sign O' The Times," that it is far too lengthy in comparison to "Revolver" which has 14 cuts but short run time of only 35 min. (If you never heard it, don't let that fool you! Those songs are so rich that if they were any longer, they would probably be too much for anyone to process.)

I agree that P hit his writing high during SOTT, but the more I think about it, "Parade" is probably the most similar to "Revolver." Both have short run time, both have black and white covers, both have experimental tracks ("Love You To" and "Tomorrow Never Knows" on Revolver; "Life Can Be So Nice" and "I Wonder You" on Parade), both have chamber like tracks ("Eleanor Rigby" on Revolver; "Venus De Milo" on Parade) and both have songs that are great to listen to when under influence of a substance ("Yellow Submarine" on Revolver; and "Do U Lie?" on Parade. Besides this, they are both very good on lyrical side and the compositons are grand.

What do you think?

Discuss!

P.S.
Let's not turn this into P vs The Beatles.
Kick the old school joint 4 the true funk soldiers.

1. Sign 'o' the Times
2. 1999
3. Dirty Mind
4. Parade
5. Purple Rain

I would have to agree with "Parade". To me, it has the same experimental vibe that "Revolver". The Beatles were trying SO many new different things and ideas on that album, it really was ballsy.. And to me, "Parade" has that same "we don't give a fuck" attitude of experimentation. Prince was NOT going to bed typecast into doing "Purple Rain"-type albums. ATWIAD started this, but "Parade" really was out of left-field.

That is tough, ATWIAD always brought up comparisons to Sgt Pepper with songs like Paisley Park and Raspberry Beret. The double SOTT was akin to the many different tracks of the double record known as The White Album.
Going by that I guess Purple Rain would be his Revolver. But music wise I agree Parade is more like it.
