So anyways. It's a gr8 record. And I don't mind about "the voice." It's not purposeless (unlike the silence.)

I love it. Every time I listen 2 it I feel that I need 2 listen 2 Xpextation as well. I love the vibe it has.

woot! The Rainbow Children woot!

And I love the art work cool

I recently saw that in contrast to the cartoons, dead center of the outside fold Prince appears to be lurking as a still image.. It' kinda cool and yet creepy at the same time. He looks intense and serene all at once. The artwork reminds me of the portrait they used on Good Times....

it's not just silence, right? at the very end of it, there's a short loop
of the "one one one one one one one one" chant that closes 'Last December'

whatever the meaning might be is unknown but it must have some meaning or
he wouldn't have gone through the effort with all the silent tracks just
to tag that little loop on the album right at the end.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

It took a while to grow on me, but I have to agree. It's a proper album as well, works best when u listen to the whole thing at once. I can even listen to "Wedding Feast" now without flinching...
And it contains at least one genius underated prince pop moment - "She Loves Me 4 Me"

cool

He did the same thing on NPS. I think he wanted you to have a short break between the end of the album and it comes back like an afterthought. It is annoying, but that's our boy.

Beautiful album, the last great one imo. Far better than 3121, and Musicology. One nite Alone is incredible too. Thats what I wanna hear from him. Not throwaway songs the stuff on 3121.

I agree 100%
I LOVE this album, not bothered by the naration either. I never cared much for religion, but I still totally enjoy the Rainbow Children, regardless. Only today I was wondering how great it would sound as purely an instrumental album also, not instead of, but as a different version. I think this could work with a lot of the tracks. AMAZING.I want another one, Rainbow Chidren 2!

I never noticed that, either, but to be honest I can't stand this album. Indeed, it put me off Prince for over a year.
