Prince named among "THE EBONY POWER 150" For those who enjoy tidbit information.
Prince has been named in the latest issue of Ebony magazine as one of “The Most Influential Blacks in America”, falling under the category of Arts and Entertainment. Their website hasn’t been updated yet, but it’s the May issue with Halle Berry on the front cover. (That’s the only reason I bought it, LOL. ) Page 90 shows: HOW THE LIST WAS CREATED The “EBONY POWER 150” was compiled by the editors of EBONY, in consultation with national experts and leaders in the fields. Being on the list does not necessarily constitute an endorsement of any particular individual or ideology. Two criteria guided the editors who made the final recommendations: 1. In the past year, did the individual transcend his or her position and exhibit widespread national influence? 2. In the past year, did the individual affect in a decisive and positive way the lives, thinking and actions of large segments of the African-American population, either by his or her position in a key group, or by his or her personal reach and influence? Other African-Americans on the list include (in their respective fields) Cornel West, Barack Obama, Jay-Z, Oprah, Bishop T.D. Jakes, and Maya Angelou. And he owes it all to American Idol I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired! | |
