Nikki/Delores/Sarah/Dionne/Lolita? First of all...which one of these is your favorite song?
Secondly...ladies, who would you choose to be: sex fiend Nikki; dirty movie watcher Delores; underwear showing Sarah; cruel tease Dionne; or potential home wrecker Lolita? Based on song popularity alone, Nikki would probably get the most nods, but truly consider the lyrics and then decide (granted, none of the women here come off as angelic). And fellas, we can get in on this too: Which one would you choose to be with? As for me, my favorite of the songs is "Dinner with Delores" (it's just so damn catchy and simply performed). And while Nikki sounds like she's a lot of fun, I'd have to stick with Delores again because she seems a bit more discreet (I mean, really, anyone who exposes herself in public in order to satisfy her carnal needs with a periodical wouldn't think twice about blabbing our business). So song and woman both go to Delores for me. How about you?

I love the song "Lolita" so much. I play it almost [i]daily[/i. But I'd like to be Nikki. I mean it's classic. P indicated that he and Nikki actually "burned the sheets" and that's always a good thing! I love a Man who:
Wears More Make Up Than Me. Wears Four Inch Stilleto Boots. Changes His Name To An Unpronouncable Symbol. Who Changes His Name Back From An Unpronouncable Symbol. Oh And Most Importantly, Who Is Sexy Little Drop Of Butterscotch

How 'bout Melody Cool?
or Shockadelica? Maybe Cinnamon Girl? Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I've only heard Darling Nikki & Lolita.
For the first question, Darling Nikki is hands down a better song... considering we didn't hit it off immediately is saying A LOT. I was a fan of Lolita after first listen, but giving both of them the time of day, I've come to the conclusion that Darling Nikki was done a lot better. Lolita sounds like Prince is "selling out", making his music sound more current, like mainstream radio... it's a fun song and I still like it a lot. Darling Nikki is more raw and more emotional... definitely a lot more fun. I mean, this is "sexy" Prince at his best... although he drives me close to insane with every listen, I've gotten to enjoy every minute of it. But I think I'd rather be Lolita... just becuz I'm not sure if I wanna be a "sex fiend", definitely not the way he describes it, that just ain't me. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

i'd probably have gone for nikki in my youth. now i really want a camille, who is like the thinking man's nikki. delores sounds a bit ditzy.

I'd want to be Lolita, so first off all I wouldn't have to have sex with Prince and I'd get to have the most years left of being alive, in general. But then again, if I'd choose to be Delores I would probably get to eat all I can. So it's a quite hard decision afterall between these two.

Dionne -- a nice departure for P, and the Mancini bit is cool.
Nikki -- the chords mix metal with vaudeville, a bombastic come-on that succeeds a dirty tale with a backmasked hymn. What's not to like? Sarah -- Pure, unadulterated funk meets pure cheese. the rest of those songs can take a flying leap...

I'd be a mix between Lolita and Nikki. I'm too young to peep his stash but I'd still make his brain spin regardless
And my fave song out of those is Darling Nikki.

I agree!!!! The melody and lyrics are brilliant. Perfect pop song. Sometime ago, someone posted a brilliant analysis of this song that demonstrated the metaphor that was his fight with WB. Delores was the overfed, spoiled and behind-the-times company. If anyone has that analysis breakdown please post again.

I love Dionne. This song belongs in my P top ten. It draws a perfect picture of those romances that just don't work out for whatever reason. Whose fault is it? Who cares, I just miss what we had.
The lyrics, baroque arrangement and spacing, brilliant guitar work, Mancini reference and european influence are P at his adventurous best. This song illustrates that Prince's brilliant music always turns up in unique times and places.

I like Delores, cept' I would not like to be compared to a brontosaurus-
Like a Brontosaurus She was packin' it in The first night we dined And by the next time This girl was eatin' all but the tip I also do not dance like a "white girl" being latina and all.. Dancin' like a white girl (white girl) On disco dirty floors. So, I changed my mind, I'll be Lolita.

I'd say Dionne, because the date he wants to take her on sounds fabulous! I want to share a martini and dance to Mancini 'til dawn. It's also a great song. I wish more people could have heard it. Wanna hear me sing? www.ChampagneHoneybee.com
