Expensive Prince Music

NEWS, I would not mind owning this , but its always over 20 Cdn bucks if the record store has it at all

Sign O the Times. I have the record, but the CD set is always quite expensive, and I have heard the sound is not great. I also have a cassette of this, and a few tracks on other CDs, (Hits, Girl 6), so will not dish out 30-40 for CD set

Well I think this is the high end Prince music

Now the cheap stuff

Emancipation, see if selling for like 6 bucks, At $2 bucks a disc , hard to go wrong here.

Most of the Warner Bros stuff is usually very reasonably priced, under 12 bucks usually

Seen Musicology for 2.50 (which is about right for it's quality) and the Rainbow Children for $3, were in discount bins at big grocery stores (one in Canada and one in Korea)

razz Kind of a useless thread, but hope to get at least 5 responses to it , can I do it??

man , I'd love to see NEWS for any price.
looks like I got to find it online and bulk a load of other discs to try and even out the postage.

I paid $30NZ for C&D, this probably was ill-advised.
I could pay $300 for Sign of the Times... it's probably the best record of all time and therefore hard to put a $ limit on.

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

I paid $100 for a 12" of Sexy Dancer/Bambi about a year ago.

That is likely quite a find. 3 Questions: The reputation of the 12 of Sexy is very strong, it is all that? Is it better, say, than Let's Work 12 off Ultimate?

Is Bambi an extended mix?

Was it worth it?

Sexy Dancer 12" is basically the unedited version and has bass and guitar solo's as well as the piano that is on the album version. If you're a fan of that song it's well worth getting.

Bambi is just the album version unfortunately.

I paid a fair chunk for the 12" vinyl of Let's Work, too -- and was disappointed. Yes, I think Sexy Dancer is better.

Well, you either buy the new store stuff or you don't. There's always ebay. Or you hook up with a friend to make you a copy of it. It all sounds the same in my cd player.. cool

I have been collecting for about 2 years now. Most of the out of print stuff I have found on ebay, amazon, or gemm.

I found TGE on gemm, from a dealer in the UK, I think I paid under $20 american plus shipping, NEWS from amazon.... most of the other stuff from amazon or ebay for under $15.

I am still looking for Black, (scared to buy it from online for fear of getting a BOGUS bootleg; will gladly accept a good authentic copy) and Gave up on Gold Nigga... will never pay $300 for a copy... not never ever.... so a friend email me the tracks and I burned a cdr... no artwork but it is really about the music right.

Good luck and have fun! I am still finishing my collection.

Next on my list is Prince, Girl 6, Black, and the Madhouse releases (another one that a good copy will do).

I bout SOTT from Tower Records a while back for $14.99. I think the price goes up when Prince is allegedly "back in the limelight" or something.
