Nah. I love my Prince, and I listen to him more than anyone, but I need to cleanse my palette every once in a while. I'm also a huge fan of Elton John, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, and a bunch of other rock, soul, funk and classical artists. There is a lot of music beyond Prince, and believe it or not, some of it is quite good! Wanna hear me sing? www.ChampagneHoneybee.com

As big of a fan I am... I'd go fuckin' crazy if that's all I had ! ..."think from a positive place, and eliminate the negative fate"...

A good balanced diet makes for a healthy mind, body and soul. Too much wine late at night gives me heartburn, and I wouldn't want to drink it for breakfast. " A mind changed against its will, is of the same opinion still"

When we're talking about true music, I'd say yeah.
True music= written by the artist and he plays his own instrument with a bunch of extra factors that only Prince has (apparently). But I still have plenty of other music I like, it's just not as predictable. I was suckered into the boyband day of the 90's and since then, mainstream music just hasn't been the same. Then again, there are few rare exceptions. These days, I like a couple of hits by Nelly Furtado, but they're only hits. After the fact that "The Killers" CD I won in a raffle SB Sunday stunk, means I'm not all for getting full CD's because I don't trust enough. There's only a couple of hits I like by certain people and I don't stick with them. I've stuck with Jesse McCartney for, count them, 5 years... that's pretty huge. I like him because he's around my age and his voice is decent with a pretty good range (not as good as Prince, mind you, but he has his highs and lows). Then there's the thing about him playing live... apparently his CD voice was modified from his own voice and his own voice doesn't go over well. The fact he doesn't play an instrument leaves me to question. A lot of factors go into what I like about music. Prince just seems to represent what music is supposed to be about better than anyone else I've ever listened to, but I probably would need other singers in my life too. Cuz if, God forbid, I get sick of Prince, I'd have nowhere else to go. I can't put "all of my eggs in one basket." had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. No and no. Nothing I said in my post said anything about my preference for funk and soul. The fact I was into boybands means that pop/rock is my favorite genre. And actually, I don't care much for R&B, funk, soul, most of the things that Prince actually represents. He'd make any genre sound good, the way I see it. "Black Sweat" isn't my type of song, but for some reason, Prince makes it sound great. That's just one example. Prince covers all genres with just as much dedication. Dare I say it, if he ever attempted rap, I might actually buy into it... and I can't stand rap. It stinks how all of the good music was in the 70's and 80's (for me, mostly 80's cuz I'm an 80's music buff myself, despite being born in '86). But Prince is the sole survivor of the age of good music and he's still going strong after so many years. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

no. as much as i love Prince's music, the Backstreet Boys will always b my favorite artists. i never liked another "boy band" in the 90s other that the BSB.Besides, as they say, too much of a good thing is never good. I like listening to a plethora of music, so there isn't one genre of music I like best.
1. Backstreet Boys 2. Prince 3. The Beatles 4. Tiziano Ferro 5. Beach Boys etc, etc, etc.... "So shall it be written, so shall it be sung..."

1. Backstreet Boys 2. Prince 3. The Beatles 4. Tiziano Ferro 5. Beach Boys etc, etc, etc.... Nice line-up. BSB was my favorite group from the 90's and I was into them the longest. Since I got into them first, they always held a special place in my heart that *NSYNC will never have. Sure, their music is funner to dance to, but BSB songs have a heart and soul and some of them were actually co-written by the "boys" themselves, giving them a bit of an advantage. The Beatles have some great stuff and so do the Beach Boys. But I don't know if Prince would be at the top of my list of favorites. I have so many favorites that I can't assign them numbers. I'll say this, though, Prince has all of my other fav. singers beat in one area: longevity. He's still going strong and his 80's songs are still as hot as "Musicology" and "Te Mao Corazon" had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone
