Until U're In My Arms Again appreciation thread Even though NewPowerSoul seems to be one of the most hated Prince albums, this song is one of my all time favs ever. It's beautiful and emotional and not like his other ballads. Anyone else love it? "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Y do people hate this CD? I love it.... All songs on it are good no matter what others say.... Prince can not give us 1999 over and over again. "3 1 2 1"

I forgot about that song! Love it!
I actually flew to Hawaii back in 1998, and listened to that CD about 8 times in a row on the way back. That song brought me to tears thinking about the love interest that I left there! lol... GREAT song... extremely underrated... and now that I think about it... it "might" be in my top 10 fave Prince slow jams. Thanks for reminding me of the song! The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

It's a beautiful song. But it makes me incredibly sad...knowing its subject. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

That's why it touched me emotionally. We see the "strong, mysterious" Prince but it gave us a glimpse to the real Prince who was still hurting from losing someone he wanted. He earned my respect with this song "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

His son. We all remember how happy he was, and then taken away from him..... "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. I had no idea the song was about his son. I thought it was about a woman.
I'll never think the same way about it, knowing what a painful experience it was for him. How do you know this?

this song is definitely about his son, just the lyrics, the expression of sadness and the feeling suggest it isnt about a woman or a love interest it is something far closer to his soul, u can feel the pain, someone hasnt just walked out, someone has died.
the song suggests his emotions referred to are those in the last moments of his sons life and those in the aftermath of his death ... "i pray this day will never end". very sad song, and perhaps one of his most beautiful!

"i pray this day will never end". very sad song, and perhaps one of his most beautiful! Definitely, these particular lyrics: Every mornin' when I awaken, I imagine U sleepin' in your bed Wrong or right the reason U're taken from my embrace Well, it's never said Cuz every day that U don't return Is another day that my heart just yearns and yearns That's why... then at the end: I'll never see like others see (I know that U'll come back 2 me) I know U're gonna come right back 2 me (Come on back 2 me) And this time U will never leave my arms again (Never leave my arms again) He was expressing his sadness, showing a different side to the person who've we've grown to know. He was saying goodbye to a special person in his life "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."
