Sorry, "Tick Tick Bang" is a piece of crap. Period.
How he could have listened to that track and say to himself that it was good enough to make it to an album is beyond me. All of that being said, "Right The Wrong" is a close second. Call me a sicko but I like a lot of the stuff people have slammed here!
That includes I love U in me, 3 Chains of Gold, Loveleft/right, Gotta Stop Messin About, Live 4 Love and Wedding Feast. What I can't take are We Gets Up, Get Yo Groove On, My Little Pill, Baby Knows. 'Daddy Pop' usually features prominently in this topic, but I can't see any mention of it (for the record i like the track). Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop. | |

Right. Pure 1993. All right, I admit that something like "A-U-T-O-MATIC" is far more dated than "Space" if you wanna go down that way. I just personally tend to disfavour early 90's style of synthesizer usage and those synth riffs on the chorus DO sound dated as hell! And I can't believe the amount of reverberation he used on some of those cuts. Otherwise, the whole album hasn't dated that bad, you're right. "Come" does indeed stand the test of time quite well. "Papa", "Loose!", "Pheromone", "Dark", "Race" - they could have been recorded anytime between last week and ten years ago. Notwithstanding trends, of course. | |

This whole argument of something sounding "outdated" is a strange one for me, because I feel that a lot of the music that comes out now sounds very outdated, especially a lot of hip-hop. But people seem to think it sounds current. Yet when I play an 80s song with a similar sound, it sounds "outdated." | |

I can't believe this thread.
Out of all the songs listed , easily over 50 - I can only agree on one that i don't like I Rock,Therefore I Am I don't think tere are any truly CRAP Prince songs, anythin ghe does is a shitload better than anyone else can do .. And I'm not an asskisser, but can be objective. What 99% of people in the world don't seem to understand is - a concept eluded by many - is what you like and what is actually technically crap is big difference... Most people in this thread said something to the effect of - I DONT LIKE THIS SONG therefore IT IS CRAP !!! Sorry but that is the crap right there... just because you don't like something doesn't deem it crap, maybe it does but that's only in your opinion... not a FACT as many of you seem to think - some of you seem to place way too much importance on YOUR opinion like it is the gospel and we all must believe and there is not even any doubt or argument about it .. There are many songs I don't think are great by Prince but stioll I can admit they are greatly written or whatever the case maybe. I don't just dismiss it as shit simply because I don't like it ... some people SHEESH !!! anyway to answer the question of Worst Song 'Dig U better dead' and 'I rock therefore i am' , i just dont listen to because i don't like them , but then again - musically and lyrically they are very average, there is nothing standout in either of those tracks.. most of For You and New Power Soul, his two weakest albums IMO. but saying that there are some amazing tracks on those two albums but I just don't like them... but they are NOT CRAP... Is it so hard to understand that concept people ? |

She Love Me For Me,and that horrible song I can't think of the name of it, On the ONA cd about brushing their teeth together. When I heard these two songs I thought Prince needs a vacation, he has writer's block. But I think Diamonds and Pearls is a classic. My Little Pill has neato experimental sound. RdHull is right on about, SoulPsychodelicide. Not a song, this is a snot rocket fuggin a stale donut. Sexy DAncer is pretty awful. Arms Of Orion is Celine Dion style dreck, but he could do a pretty live version I bet. Ronnie Talk To Russia is noise, not a song. Call The Law is just plain boring. Horny Pony is shitty too. I love U in Me is a fucking classic and I don't want no more shit. No Call U is crappy. Venus De Milo is a bit like Kenny G. 2 Nigs United 4 West Compton is a noisy, badly planned instrumental. Lemon Crush is a bunch of sounds hiding the fact that there was not much of a song. Sex is great, but I can see why someone might not like it. Most of TRC is evil, it is so bad.
