Have you met Prince?

If so, what was he like? Did he live up to your expectations? I would be scared if I met him. He´s probably not someone Im SUPPOSED to meet as it would make him too real to me.

Haven't met Prince, but I stood next to St Paul at the urinal in the 100 club toilets last summer. Does that count?

And yes, he washed his hands afterwards, hygiene fans

not yet, but I haven't been a fan for long so I really can't complain.

My first goal is just to go to one of his concerts to see the man in action.

Although, if I do ever get the chance, I'll definitely be prepared for it... even though my nerves would probably get the best of me.

But then again, I don't know. Since he mesmerizes me when I watch him perform, the aura that surrounds him might erase my nerves and I'd be comfortable standing next to his Greatness.

I'm most curious to ask him if he'd like to be treated as a celebrity, or as a friend with a great deal of respect. He seems a little arrogant at times, which leads me to ponder point A, but in the interviews, he seems so laid back that I think he just wants to be respected for his dedication to his art.

I am not as lucky as those who were actually able to look him in the eye and speak to him, but I did scream a very important message to him as he was getting into his limo after a concert in Seattle! lol

Oh goodness, I can't decide if it was the most thrilling, or most embarassing moment of my life! It was after the ONA show in Seattle. My sister found out where he would be making his exit after the show, so she dragged me outside before the last song ended. Sure enough, about 10 minutes later, he emerges from a side door, surrounded by bodyguards. I was standing just a few yards away, and I thought I was going to faint!

There were only a couple dozen people standing around, and they were all shouting "Prince! Prince!" Right before he got into his limo, I somehow worked up the guts to scream, at the top of my lungs,

"YOU CHANGED MY LIFE!!!!!"

My heart skipped a beat, because he paused for a moment after I screamed that. My sister grabbed my hand and said, "Rani! He heard you, he heard you!" Then he got into his limo, and drove away. I tell you, I felt like I had died and gone to Heaven!

How exciting, I think I froze for like a minute when Prince actually started walking towards me after I asked him to please not leave. It's overwhelming.

You are far gutsier than I am! I get so shy around people I admire. Still, if I realized that it would possibly be my only chance to meet him, I think I'd man up and talk to him! lol

biggrin I MET HIM IN NEW YORK AT THE PRESS CONFERENCE WHEN HE BECAME PRINCE ONCE AGAIN. I POSED AS A REPORTER, ASKED THE LAST QUESTION OF THE CONFERENCE. WHEN HE WAS LEAVING I GUESS HIS BODY GUARDS BOUGHT MY ACT. THEY LEFT HE AND I WALKING SIDE BY SIDE RUBBING ARMS. HE LEANED IN TO HEAR ME AS I TOLD HIM I LOOKED FORWARD TO WORKING WITH HIM. HE REPEATED MY FULL NAME TWICE AS I TOLD HIM TO REMEMBER IT BECAUSE IT WILL HAPPEN. HE SAID, "I LOOK FORWARD TO IT" BEFORE I COULD SAY ANOTHER WORD WE WERE IN A CROWD HE WAS WISKED AWAY.....AAHHH SOON! biggrin

I envy all of the people that have had that lucky chance to meet him in person.

But I love hearing about fan encounters, it gives me more of a view of "personal" Prince, opposed to onstage Prince.

^^ I agree. Most of the time unless he's being rushed it sounds like he's pretty relaxed when encountering his fans.

Believe me I am so shy and quiet that I have no idea how the words even came out of my mouth. I was ready to run the other way when I saw him, But I quickly thought this may never happen again so I better say something.

I met him during the ONA tour soundcheck in Columbus, Ohio. I got to play his guitar and he gave me some pointers afterwords while I looked over his shoulder.

Thanx.

Actually, I've been here for nearly 6 weeks now, but yeah, I still feel very new to the craziness.

I felt I jumped from the high-dive into Prince's music when I bought 3 albums in addition to my dad owning the Purple Rain soundtrack. These days, I can't tell where one song ends and another begins... or at least it feels that way. The fact I have it at my disposal just made things so complicated. There's so much to Prince's music. I wonder how he deals with it... maybe this is the reason why he doesn't like to talk about the past.

I feel like I'm getting into the heart of the matter now. My heart & soul is in it, but my head's spinning, trying to find some level of sanity...

In some way, Prince is insane, or at least seems that way, but I know that he's pretty grounded, especially at present. That's why I love Housequake, they have countless interviews that really showed me what Prince is like in person and its amazing how different he is on and offstage.

Right now, I'll just aim for going to at least one of his concerts. What an experience that'll be.
