SOLD OUT - Prince and NPGMC..U R a F**king Joke

NPGMC website...

"Welcome 2 the 2002 Package of the NPG Music Club!
Join the NPG Music Club in 2002 and get music directly from Prince & The NPG, attend Prince concerts with the best seats in the house, and b the first with all the latest NPG Gear straight from Paisley Park"

"Plus ALL 2002 members will B able 2 buy tickets 2 days before the general public"

So I take the day off, get up an hour before the sale, log on early. Then I spend an fucking hour and a half trying to purchase my tickets.

When the site finally starts working properly. SOLD OUT!

Before anyone sprouts the "tickets are limited" bollocks at me, what is the point of advertising the offer, if they cannot honour it?

They know how many members they have, so they can PLAN it so all get in.

We now have the crazy situation where some members will be going to all three nights, and other members cannot go. Where is the fairness in that?

The London show will exclude many London Members.

I have been to EVERY London show since Parade. Every one. Then He decides he can "go direct 2 the fams" and fucks it up.

Its obvious demand will be high as he has not been here for years. They haven't got a clue.

If anyone has a second ticket for any London show, pleaseee let me know.

But I am begining to wonder if Prince is even worth it. I am so angry its untrue.

And what about people who don't have internet access at work, maybe cannot take a day off, so they have to wait till they get home at night and find out that it's all gone. Man they fucked up big time.

I agree - I got as far as putting in my credit card details and then the tickets were sold out.

I paid $100 in January so that I could pay $100 for the pre-sale tickets. I have been waiting years for this concert.

Why can't they provide enough tickets for the members who are the real fans and showed that by joining the club in the first place.

THE NPGMC IS A SWIZ - music direct to the fans my ass.

I tried for an hour and a half to get tickets and when I finally got on, it wasn't even on the website to buy tickets. Is this because I'm in America?

Every premium member that wants tickets should be able to get them.

Why is he playing at such a small venue in huge London?.
I e-mailed the NPG and mentioned they should transfer the shows to a larger venue, in case the idiots don't think of that themselves.

I really feel sorry for the Europeans that didn't get tickets after waiting so long to see Prince.

It seems every time I try to do something related to Prince there is always frustration that goes with it.

When am I going to get smart and quite putting up with all the crap?

I'd rather go back to the days when we queued overnight at the venue to get front row seats. At least then, the choice was mine.

You do realize that people living in other places than London were puchasing tickets for the London shows right. So even if NPGMC did set aside a ticket for every London member how would they account for people buying tickets who don't live in London?
And how would they have been able to account (in advance) for the people who just joined the club yesterday?

We now have the crazy situation where some members will be going to all three nights, and other members cannot go. Where is the fairness in that?

Same thing happened in the US.

Quite simple.

Using their database, they ask the members in the local area to pre-register their tickets. They can then make allowances for everyone, then, if the section is not full, open it up to the rest.

That is much fairer.

Or...

They simply allow the members to fill up whatever area first, before the hand the rest over to the venue.

Through my job, we taking bookings for 6,000 sports fans for matches all the time. they always get in, before te public. There are only four if us, and its easy.

It might be fairer but it still wouldn't work. Asking the existing local members to pre-register still would not take care of the people who just joined yesterday.

If there is some deal with the venue and Prince on the amount of tickets he can hold for the club, this may not be a viable option either.

This is so annoying. I had planned to attend at least one of the shows. If someone has a spare pass for the rehearsals and concert please email me at vg@react-media.com

agree - they should have simply opened up other areas of the venue once the premium tickets sold out.

the real problem is going to be if members cannot even get hold of regular tickets - ie miss out altogether.

These venues only fit a couple thousand people, so obviously every member won't get tix(my estimate puts membership at over 15,000-could be more-and many of those are in Eurpope and the UK)
...but you should email the npgmc requesting they add more shows in your area.
That goes for any other area in Europe. 9 times out of 10, if there's a large demand for more shows, Prince will add them.

Someone has obviously underestimated the demand in the UK. Perhaps even the bookers and promoters are at fault?

If Prince was performing 5 or 6 shows in the Apollo I think everyone would have got in.

The apollo is a small venue. If he sold more tickets to NPGMC members it just wouldn't be good seating anymore.

The soundcheck wouldn't be to 'exclusive' and intimate with 500 people sitting there.

If the premium tix r limited
they should limit the tix to 2 tix per member per concert & [b]per country[b]

This way, mayb a majority of fams will b able 2 go 2 soundchecks in their own country or the country of their choice !

every member ought 2 b able 2 have this chance !

Let's clear things up for a second:
"sold out" doesn't mean the show has sold out, but that all the tix set aside for NPGMC members are sold out.
I've read estimates of about 200 npg tix- per small venue.

Each venue holds about 2500 ppl, so there are more tix left over. That still doesn't guarantee every member or non-member a ticket, just like membership didn't guarantee every member a Celebration ticket.

Tom

Whoever Prince hired to handle his business ventures should have been fired 10 years ago.

To be fair though, I had a little mishap with concert tickets earlier this year that NPGMC helped me out with right down to the night before the show.

I was able to purchase my tickets for the cleveland show because the day they went on sale was the last day of my membership for year 1. But I was not eligible for the pass into the rehersal unless I was a current member (go figure), so like a day before the show I emailed NPGMC asking them what the deal was and how do I get into the rehersal, and they dropped it on me that I had to sign up for year 2 first. I wasn't happy about it, but I did it anyhow firguring this would probabbly be the only time I would get to do this.

When I arrived at the venue, they told me to explain the situation to Billy Sparks and give him a copy of the email they sent me. As soon as I walked up to him, he asked me where I was from and handed me my rehersal pass. Everything went smooth from there.

Oddly enough, there were only about 30-40 people at the rehersal but the actual seats I had for the show were 11th row. I don't understand how all these extra people got better seats than me when the 30-40 of us present at the rehersal were probabbly also the only ones who participated in the presale.

The whole mess both in the US and overseas with these presales wouldn't be so bad if Prince and the NPGMC would at least acknowledge it a little more and at least allow refunds or reimbursements or some way out if they can't live up to what the club promises.

These sloppy and poorly thought out business practices are gonna be the last nail in the coffin for NPGMC.

what's the point? prince obviously doesn't give a flying fuck about us, all he cares about anymore is the JW cult and being number 1 at the bank so he can support the JW cult

he can't even be bothered to give us updates on product releases we already paid for.

nevermind. don't worry, be happy.

The truth of the UK matter is: there are only between 200 and 500 presale tix for each show and they're sold out. They let everyone know they were limited before they went on sale.

Plain and simple. And yet there are still people who just don't get it.

It may be that the capacity issue is not for the soundcheck or the actual concert, but for the aftershow. Prince seems to like playing in tiny flea pits for aftershows (at least in london) and if all with laminates can get in, this would be the limiting factor.
