Prince,James Brown,Sly Stone and George Clinton

Out of the four, who's the funkiest? What makes the Artist that you choose the funkiest(Example: like a song or etc), How would you rate them in a scale of 1 thru 4 funkiest to least funkiest. I personally choose the Purple One prince because none of the other guys fused Jazz, Rock, R&B and POP and made it sound so unique. Prince has a way of taking something and making it sound like nothing we've heard before, hence term The Minneapolis Sound, but thats just my opinion..... so i want to hear your opinions, which will be well respected and accepted.....WHO IS THE FUNKIEST?

I guess you never heard JB's mid-60's Smash singles and LP's.

Sorry...in this category, Prince comes last.

He deserves props for being the "Last of the Mohicans", but the others showed him how to do it first. Without them, Prince's funk would not be so funky.

Hey fool! You stole my topic! I had this topic a month and a half ago. Were you sleeping or something? It precisely read Prince,George,Rick,Sly,or James who is the funkiest? Ask the moderators they probably remembered. The next time you put in a topic that someone else used you better give props where they're due and not take credit for yourself. Lamebrain! Anyway, my original list still stands as this:
1. George Clinton
2. Prince
3. Rick James
4. James Brown
5. Sly Stone
May you live to see the dawn. Especially you thief!
Peace and be wild!

I know everyone has their own opinions, and I know this is a Prince board, but how in the hell is Prince topping so many list as the funkiest man in the world. I just don't see it.

Cuz this be a Prince board...peeps b biased to Prince. While P was definitely inspired and influenced heavily by James and Sly....it is hard to judge who is funkier....they are all funky in there unique way....
