Your Favorite Prince GUITAR tracks i was listening to Bambi today and got to thinking of which other Prince songs have stellar/killer guitar like it does. Before i go thru and listen to some stuff i haven't heard in a while, here's what comes to mind. (i'm missing all the NPG exclusive stuff, so please only list what "joe fan" could've got a the wrecka stow )
Purple Rain Electric Chair Fury Endorphinemachine (didn't hear this enough before that cd got away, was it just loud or was there lots of guitar on it?). i know there's more, help me out

I made a tape (in the 90's) of songs with my favorite guitar parts and entitled it, "Guitar Pics". Needless to say it was over 180 minutes of songs, way too many to mention. One of my favs was "Ain't No Place Like You". " a newborn child knows nothing of destruction, nothing of love & hate"

Yes it was released commercially. From "Mayte Child of the Sun" cd, track #5. " a newborn child knows nothing of destruction, nothing of love & hate"

In no particular order:
1. Why you wanna threat me so bad? (the solo!) 2. When you were mine (love that dry, reverb free guitarsound) 3. Purple Rain (i have heard this song way too much, but okay, okay, the playin is indeed great) 4. Temptation (one of his best, most nasty guitarsolo's) 5. The Cross (surprisingly sober and bleak sounding, even for Prince) 6. Positivity (I know, not a rocktrack or so, but Prince is creating magic in the background with all that guitar feedback) 7. The question of U (Sometimes a simple solo can be a very expressive one) 8. Endorphinmachine (better then Lets go crazy, in my opinion, and i even love the cowbell ) 9. I like it there (Prince recapturing the raw essence of his guitarsound on the Dirty Mind album, and proof for me that Prince should some time release a new album in the form of this powertrio: Michael Bland, Sonny Thompson and himself). 10.Zannalee / The Ride: a tie here, but proof that is damn fine, raw sounding guitarplayer when it comes to simple blues chords.

"Bambi" of course. Stops me in my tracks everytime. But I'd have to say "I'm Yours". "I don't make the rules. I just play"
