Yes for real. I am quickly proving that Prince has improved with age. The Rainbow Children (song) is a knockout. I don't think P could have done this in the eighties. The jazzy Parade shows with horns can't touch live recordings of the Rainbow Children era.

Definitely agree that Prince keeps improving as a musician, but the art he created in the 80s was amazing. I can't agree with you on TRC (or Parade shows--if I could travel back in time to be at a Parade show or a TRC one, I'd pick Parade hands down). But I will agree that TRC is a fantastic song.

Take that stupid voice off there and we'll talk.

You cant compare TRC w/80's material, as P has grown so much since.
That being said,,,Purple Rain may be a better overall song than TRC

What is the point. You already have made up your mind as to TRC being better than anything prior. We could list a dozen songs.

How do plan on proving this?

I've never heard the song, but I'd challenge any Prince song (from any era) to top:

Purple Rain & When Doves Cry (his two best from the 80's, also my 2 fav. Prince songs from the 80's)
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

I agree. It's like saying all P's songs should have been exactly the same, no matter what era. Time changes, mind changes, technology changes. You really can't compare P's songs the way that your insisting.

Oh he has MUCH better songs than those, you just haven't heard them yet. They are way overrated anyway or rather, overplayed!

I've only scratched the surface of Prince's material, so you're probably right.

I'll still stand by my favorites until something better does come along and find me.

whats so silly is that its all subjective...so why not just create a thread sharing with us all why you love TRC just as much as his earlier stuff? share your experiences...how the song makes you feel...how it affected you personally.

without any of that you come off just as bad as the trolls who say prince has sucked since after Lovesexy...

come on now cha see...you gotta flip the backside. lol
