He's certainly played the Netherlands before and although in 98 he only played 3 London gigs, I remember him playing huge venues in London in the past (Earls Court, Wembley) for 5 and 7 nights also.

Not counting aftershows he played:
In 1987: 34 shows in Europe, in 1988: 32 shows, in 1990: 51 shows, in 1992: 33 shows, in 1993: 28 shows and in 1995: 21. Those are all more than the 19 announced now.
Only 1981, 1986 and 1998 were less than that.

Has he played Norway before too: In 1988 and 1993.

And The Netherlands? Of course! As a matter of fact The Netherlands (also known as Holland) has been the only country in Europe he visited on every single tour he did here ever since his 1981 Dirty Mind mini tour of UK, Netherlands and France.
Then in 1986: 3 shows, 1987: 7 shows, 1988: 3 shows and an aftershow, 1990: 3 shows, 1992: 6 shows, 1993: 2 shows, 1995: 2 shows + 2 aftershows and 1998: a show and aftershow in August and a show and aftershow in December.

A total of 29 shows and 5 aftershows.
For the record: UK was left out in 1987, and France and Germany in 1995 (so in no other European country he played on ALL his European tours.)

Correctomundo! He obviously loves the Netherlands very much! But than, it must be said for once and for all: the Dutch are the most difficult people to get on the dance floor, and once you got them there they are the funkiest on earth smile

Natasha, if you watch the SOTT video, all shots of the audience were recorded in Rotterdam Ahoy' - Holland (Netherlands). If you watch the Lovesexy 1988 show: although the concert was in Germany (Dortmund), on demand of Prince the majority - if not all - of the tickets were sold in the Netherlands, so also a Dutch audience there.
