A Prince Trivia Question (med difficulty) I was just looking at a list of Prince songs, released , unreleased, written for others, instrumentals, etc.
There were 1075 of them. Imagine if he had released all these in units of 12. He would have 90 records out so far. Anyway, trivia time, on the list there was only 1 instance where I saw a song name duplicated. I am aware of both songs that share the name, and they are very different. Without researching can you name the title I am talking about. I was not too thorough while looking at the list, so there could be more than 1 instance. merf

Nope, the titles of both songs not only sound the same, but also share the same spelling.
Nice try though merf | |

I asked this once before, it is a favorite of mine, and a bit more challenging.
One song, not only appears on a Prince record, but also appears on 2 artists who Prince has worked with. All 3 versions were released through a legit record company (not bootleg) What song? merf

Kiss, not sure which trivia Q you are trying to answer, you could explain more.

God Instrumental I guess this qualifies as a close answer, but the 2 songs that share the same name are 2 distinctly different songs. I don't think this can entirely be said between the 2 versions of God. Good Try. Tell me if I am wrong, and you disagree merf

WTG Mike, Girl was the answer to my first trivia Q, two distinctly different songs with the same title, both written by Prince, congrats
I need to go to bed , I will answer the other trivia Q soon. I have heard Prince's One Song, but I know little about it. Could you enlighten me. I don't have this on any P record I own, have them all. Was it an internet release. How many versions, by who? merf

Off the top of my head, I think 'Girl' is the "duplicate" , as mentioned by mplsmike first above.
The next closest example, I think, is '7' and 'Seven' . ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

The next closest example, I think, is '7' and 'Seven' . Yes, it was Girl. There was another trivia question I asked. Do you know the answer to it. I think of you as the resident genius here at the org, and would be delighted in stumping you. Though I am confident you will have the answer. I will stay awake for this. merf

Girl - The Hits The B-sides, The Time Big Fun - Exodus, Newpowersoul You mean New Power Soul (from Exodus) and Newpower Soul (from NPS). Big Fun was only on Exodus (although the chant was also used in the track Newpower Soul from NPS, which is likely where the confusion arose.

You may see incorrect information about this on the net from time to time (I know I have) - One Song was never released as an audio track - it was a streaming video available on http://www.love4oneanother.com from Jan. 1st, 2000, and then released as a video download (Quicktime) as part of NPGMC edition # 6 - released July 7, 2001. But audio-only has never been released. The first one didn't have any credits, I think, and the video release was credited to (since that was the name he used when it was originally recorded and uploaded). Thanks booyah, for the info on One Song, a good tune.
Nothing Compares 2U is not the song I was looking for. Fits all the criteria except I don't believe Prince has ever worked with Sinead O Connor. merf

AGAIN the trivia q that has yet to be answered correctly:

If I Love U 2nite was not the song I was thinking of. Did Prince ever release his own version.
The song I am thinking of is quite rare in that Prince released it , but did not write it merf

There aren't that many songs Prince has officially released that he didn't write, we should be able to list them. Every Day is a Winding Road One of Us La, la, la means I love you (This was the Delfonics, Betcha was the Stylistics) Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.
