Does anyone know the story behind the version of "Starfish & Coffee" on the Muppets? Is it an alt mix of the '87 version or something altogether new? The switch in arrangement during the chorus makes me think it's a re-do from the '90s, but it certainly sounds similar otherwise. Also, its inclusion on the "The Work Vol. 5" is great--but I'm still confused!

i think it was just a re-do specially recorded for the muppets program. it wasn't uncommon for guests on variety shows like that to do. i don't think it was part of any other project, though some have said it was part of prince's project to re-record new masters of his WB catalog. i don't know if i believe that.
