Aren't making Prince a multi-millionaire and one of the most revered artists alive, enough as gifts?

Okay- here's my biggest silly moment. I spotted the message in the Alphabet Street video like a day or two after it came out, thought I was the only one who spotted it, wrote a letter and had it printed in a local NJ/NY area music rag. (MTV had not yet "broken" the story when my letter was printed). I walked around with copies of my printed letter for awhile. After the L.I. LoveSexy show, I went with a friend to the hotel where the band was staying. Met Miko, Helen (wardrobe) and one of the security directors. All walked away with a copy of my letter to "give to Prince". I don't know what I was thinking- but I guess my 20 year old self thought he be impressed. please don't...brick, I'm much older now, I know, I know, duh!!

(BTW, Miko was extremely cool, he hung out with a group of us for over an hour or more chatting and telling third person stories. One of the best "Prince" nights of my life!)

(I can't believe there hasn't been a sand dollar joke here yet)... biggrin
Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"
They've taken a lifetime lease on Paisley Park ...music

OK, here are my two cents: Back in 1984, after I saw Purple Rain. I went to the store to buy one of the "clown masks" that were so visible in the movie....I like a fool boxed it up, made my way to the post office and sent it to Paisley Park as my gift to him, sweet little hand written note and all! I in my heart of hearts always thought he had it somewhere in his house. Anyways, a few years back..I use to work as a nanny for an actress, some b-rated actress I do not care to discuss who. wacky Anyways, everytime her fans would send her stuff like that, the staff at her house would take first pick and trash the rest! I often wonder who has my clown mask!! rolleyes

You realize Paisley Park didn't open up until 1987?

I remember during one show, I farted like really bad.

So I took off my underwear & threw it on stage.

I just didn't want to have to deal with it when I got home.

yes once i left rose rose at the gate at Paisley Park on Prince's birthday. He wasn't a JW then but even if he was celebrating he probably never knew or cared. When i found out about the late nite parties i brought homemade wild raspberry jam that took hours to prepare. A guard told me that no food is ever accepted. In retrospect i guess i should have figured that out ahead of time because even tho i knew it was perfectly pure, how could he be sure?

Raspberry jam sounds delicious! drool
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Then I must have sent it to Warner Brothers care of Prince, I know I sent it to where I logically thought he would recieve it. Mind you I was 19!!! damn, I'm old, that's why I can't remember where I sent it. I did send him a balloon-a-gram to Paisley Park once, on his birthday. I seem to have a facination with PaisleyPark, can you tell?

In 1984, following the screening for "Purple Rain" in L.A,, my friend and I discovered where Prince was staying, (we were young and dumb! 21 and 22). He was renting a home on Tower Rd. off of Benedict Canyon, not far from the Beverly Hills Hotel. The next day we returned to the house, I wanted to give hime a picture I had drawn of him, (contreversy album cover). When you're young you have no fear! We rang the doorbell and none other than "Chick" answered the door. I told Chick that I just wanted to give Prince a picture, he invited us in. He said Prince wasn't there but we could wait. There was a tiny leather jacket on the back of the dining room chair. Chick made a phone call, at that time we got scared and said we had to leave. He said he would give Prince the Picture. After thinking about it, Prince was probably there all the time!

I have a few stories...
Back in April 03' when Prince was in Chicago it was a few days before Easter.
I had bought and Adorable stuffed bunny.. and I got a little kids
size Tshirt.. I did up the Tshirt and put the prince on it and "I love U"
on the back.. I was in the 2nd row for the 1st night..
So all night I am holding this stuffed animal trying to get up the nerve
to give it to P..
Well near the end of the show Tony was dancing right in front of me and he
yelled something like "you wanna give that to him?" I shook my head
yes... so when they came back out for a Encore type song.. Prince
came up to the mike... didn't say a word.. and just smiled down at me. smile
I moved forward and handed him the rabbit...
He took it and turned it over to read the front and back of the
shirt and he then hugged it.. biggrin He looked down at me and said
"for me?" and I said "For you".... he said "thank you"..
then he said "this is my night.... "
Which can be PLAINLY heard on the Cd of that concert.
Then he took it and set it back on the stage by his piano.
A few other people gave him small gifts that night but a few he
refused and another he took then threw back out in the ground.
BUT.. the high light was... when the show was over... and the band was
going off stage.. Damin stopped and picked up the rabbit!! wink
I was so excited..
then on the last night of the tour we saw Tony and Damin and Mike B
at a late night club and we got to talk to them and Tony said that
Prince himself had yelled back and Damin from off stage and told him
to pick up the rabbit!!!!!
So I kinda think that they didn't throw it out...
ALSO..... in the days before Prince was a JW... I use to send
him all sorts of cards.. for bdays.. holidays etc..
TWO times I got notes back from Paisley park thanking me for all
the kind cards and notes and wishing me the best for me and my
family.....
Don't sell artists Short... MANY of them DO love what the fans
do for them.....
but now that Prince has "changed" do much..... I don't think he is
really into gifts like he once was...

Whew..... this was a novel..... LOL lol
