For the fans.

Each month he could release a box set representing a tour. Soundboard recordings, possibly rehersal outtakes, new photos, possibly DVD. It would be awesome.

his online store, like the one he had up until last year, would have
been absolutely perfect for this.

i never quite understood how he would just let that whole outlet go
to waste like that.

everyone would be happy: we because we got to have this stuff in a
good quality version with some linernotes online and a few pics or
stuff.

and prince could be happy cuz people were appreciatig his work that
would be left to rot in the vault otherwise.

plus, he would have made some cash off it. not that much admitting
but still i'm sure he could have bought himself a few new cars on
the profits of releasing, say Bataclan..

I totally agree Mike

I like the live sound and wish there was more Prince Live around.

I did go through a period of recording From video onto tape for use in the car and had SOTT,Purple Rain,Lovesexy and Parade tours on tape.

Come on P, give us some more "live" stuff on CD or DVD. (Musicology Live DVD would be great for all those who never saw it)

wave I love live recordings!

When I heard my first one it was like a drug--I went on a binge accquiring all sorts of them. I've tapered off a bit, but since Prince raised ticket prices for Vegas making it too expensive for me as I had planned; I decided to treat myself to some pressed DVDs of the Dirty Mind tour & 4 Those of U on Valium. I should have them by this weekend...not quite the same as Vegas, but much less expensive and no crazy fams to deal with. razz

ps. please no orgnotes asking where I got/get them.
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

love them!

They make the song sound a little more alive than it would if it were recorded and pieced together like a puzzle.

The "liveliness" of a song plays a huge role in whether or not I enjoy it. But "liveliness" is such a broad term and can be used to define, say:
The Beautiful Ones, A Million Days, Purple Rain (the only one of these that is a live recording) and there's a certain liveliness, but mesmerizing nonetheless in Te Amo Corazon.

Watching him do live performances make songs seem more real to me and having them recorded in that fashion gives that same vibe, but w/o the visual.
