I never liked his mauling of Bonnie Raitt's song. He took a heartbreaking song about unrequited love, and a lover's emotional shortcomings, and turned it into just another cheap seduction.

There r only 2 songz on Emancipation that I'm not particularly fond of.I LIKE ,but don't LOVE-Mr.Happy and Da Da Da. I love everything else,tho!

As soon as I bought the CD, I gave it a listen.
The following day,
I gave the CD to my brother.

So, I'd have to say that, for this album,
I liked all the songs equally.

Mainly from disc one:
Somebodys somebody
Get yo groove on
Courtin' time
We gets up
and of course Face down

I am one of 'those' people who thinks that when it comes to songwriting / composition skills Emancipation is maybe his strongest album since 'Sign'.

A shame that most of this potentially good / great material is spoiled by plastic / uninspired production and a lousy delivery (musically and vocally).

With a more inspired production and a more soulfull delivery of the music and vocals the following songs could have made a great single CD:

A really good album, I think... some quality control could have been used, but, by and large a wonderfully enjoyable three hours.
