After I gave The Dance a listen on its own, I really got into it. Prince tells a story through the song and that's amazing how well its done. It starts out a little slow and then it takes off and its very emotional in so many different ways. Then he pulls the killer, passion with a capital "P" during the last minute of the song.
Love that.

The album itself really knows how to put a smile on my face. It's not as uniform as Musicology (meaning most of the same genres), but variety is always a plus. There are some songs that stand above the rest in my book.

The Dance, The Word, Love, Te Amo Corazon (Im just infatuated with it), and Beautiful Loved & Blessed.

:gasp:, oh no. Te Amo Corazon... I was just reading the lyrics and I realized that I feel that way about Prince, especially the last verse. Aww.... that's the mark that I share with a lot of my favorite Prince songs. I connect with him thru it or it reminds me of him.

This sounds a little ridiculous, but Te Amo Corozan, I was just watching the video and the bridge brought me to tears (luckily not the same way that Purple Rain and Gold does). I feel like I'm addicted to Prince's music now and I have to keep listening in order to keep my connection with him. I feel disconnected after a short period of time, but I guess I'm growing too dependant.
Anyway, I love the bridge and the last verse cuz I feel like that's me speaking to Prince.

It's funny... we haven't had a day apart since I started on this journey 6 weeks ago. But I think I'd go crazy w/o his music even for a day.

He hasn't changed me in every way, but definitely a lot of ways. Wow, this is the first song of his that sounded like my words to him... so cool.

Anyway, back to my original point, some songs I listen to a few times and they grow on me. Since I like all of the other songs on the album for one reason or another, I wanna give it another chance. There was something I liked about it at first listen and I wanna remember that. But Prince gave all of these songs a lot of hard work and I plan to do the same in response to them.

It'll only take a few more listens b4 I know for sure.

Te Amo Corazon was a song that had to grow on me and now I love it. It's simply beautiful.

I'll definitely come to you guys if I ever need info on anything Prince because I'm not really an expert in any era as of yet. I figure that I'll stay in one era per week until I feel the need to move on. Every day is a learning experience, both on here and with his music. That's one of the greatest benefits of being a fan and having a place like this to channel my feelings about him.

I feel like I've learned a lot in the past 6 weeks, but the fact he's written so much means that it'll be a long time b4 I become an expert in anything, but that's okay. I'm lovin' the ride and will continue to. This is unlike any experience I've had with any other musician. I don't dive into the music as deep as I have with Prince and I haven't connected with any other musician the same way. I can barely call BSB, Jesse McCartney and Clay Aiken musicians, though.
It's always a learning experience and every once in a while (it's getting to be every day, though), Prince works his magic and we connect thru [a] song(s). I rank that among the highest of benefits of being a Prince fan.

I'll keep you guys posted every day, as long as I have internet connection, lol and I'd like to hear everything you have to say.
