is "White Mansion". I love this song to death, it's just one of those feel good kinda songs. I just listened to it last night, and am getting ready to jam to it once again.

I am sooooo w/ u there!!!!! "White Mansion" has always been my FAVORITE song off of Emancipation. I remember I listed it on this site n 1 of the forums as 1 of my favorite Prince songs. Eventho some clowned, which surprised me b/c I thought all of us as Price fams would be a little more open-minded.
But "White ' ", yeah this 1 grabbed me 10 years ago when I 1st purchased the album. It's got a good message, inspirational, and I love the beat, lyrics. It is really feel good as you say. I was 16 back then & n the throws of highschool angst, so I must say that it was a little of what I felt at the time. This song is a time capsule 4 me.
Favorite part: "Back 2 Minneapolis, there u go/ Can't find ur house underneath the snow" Luvs that! Oh &: "How 'bout them publishing rights..." That part is hot too. Oh yeah the mem's....
I have the whole Prince library on my hard drive here at work. (Shame on any of you who doesn't) Think I'll play White right now. BTW I work at New Century Mortgage... Pray 4 me people! LoL.
I'm just a type that likes the unconventional/non-mainstream songs. If it's on the radio over and over again, chances are I won't buy in. I do my own thing.
"Glam Slam" is also 1 of those songs that just grabs me, u no. There's always that 1 song that you fall in love with on every prince album.
"Joy in Repetition" on Graffiti Bridge: "Live music from a band plays a song called "Soul Psychodelicide"/The song's a year long and had been playing 4 months/When he walked into the place/No one seemed 2 care/An introverted, "This is it," look on most of their faces" - That's the stuff. BTW, makes me dig ur handle Psychodelicide.

& what this phenomenon so great is that sometimes you can't xplain y, and most people don't really get it, that's what it's all about right there.

As I said before about this song, I like the fact that he sounds just like any other person, wanting something better for themselves. Wishing for the Big White Mansion, on the top of the world!!

Yeah, White Mansion is a great song. A classic Prince "simple" song. The beat and arrangement is very basic, which adds to the clarity of the song.

Again, as I stated in the "In this Bed I Scream" thread, Emancipation has a lot of gems. As a cohesive 3CD set it fails. But, pick out the 8 to 12 tracks you like and burn them into your own personal Emancipation CD.
