I think it's obvious that Michael Jackson has the far superior technical skill, although he needs some new routines!! Prince is usually more exciting and always different in his dancing.

Fred Astaire - dancing was coming on the scene so I'll have to go with the ole fart.

Prince wasn't the technical dancer like Fred A.
Wasn't as fluid as michael jackson
Wasn't as inventive as jb
But when it came to dancing within the performance they are all second class citizens to the one and only P. When I say that I mean- Dance, sing, play and perform at the same time. At his best he was a sight to behold- a brilliant, whriling dervish that could astonish with his acrobats- both vocal and physical as well as his musical chops.
Yes, there were better dancers but none of them were better performers.

Normally, I'd say Michael Jackson, but this time I gotta say James Brown. I mean the brother did it all. And he's the reason why we have Michael Jackson and Prince now!

Well Fred Astaire is the only true dancer on this list. The others are musicians/singers who dance. So he of course takes the cake.


But... take him out of the list. That's hands down Michael Jackson he can juuuust MOOOOOVE!!! Don't look at things like Motown 25. That's was nothing and very tame for Michael. Look at his later J5 work. Like Dancing Machine, Look at the Bad video or the Ghost's video. Just AWESOME.
