In search of the ass-less pants... I have heard of a canary yellow suit that Prince wore sometime during the Purple Rain tours that has the butt cut out of them  . not during Purple Rain, that was the MTV awards in 1991- I'm sure that pic is in the gallery or maybe the "yellow" thread that's going on right now.... Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"

They weren't strictly "assless" pants, it had a layer of transparent nylon covering his cheeks.

On the Live video of Prince performing in Syracuse during the Purple Rain tour, part of the show he performs in sort of nylon trousers with a paisley-type pattern that you can almost see through - but they are black. Perhaps your mom put that together with the MTV performance in '91 in her mind. But '91 was the first sighting of the true assless pants. | |
