What motivates people 2 buy these things only 2 lock 'em away in storage?
Really, I mean..what's the motivation?

I s'pose its the same thing that motivates people 2 produce n sell em.

U know i have that exact t shirt. Yes its put away never been worn. but that cause i wouldnt be caught dead in it....It was givin to me free from the npgmc back in 1998

They're collector's items, and they're worth more unworn.

I guess they're the same as unsent commemorative stamps, unspent coins, and unopened toys. I'm not a collector of anything like that, but I can see the appeal.

Thing is, there has to be a market for the stuff for it to be of any value.

Looking back, I wish I would've picked up a few extra copies of The Gold Experience! I do have an unopened The Rainbow Children because I think it will be hard to find in the future.

I brought 2 musicology tee shirts at his concert and I wear mine all summer proudly!

The reason i dont wear them , It's not that i hope there worth money later...

I've purchased MANY Prince shirts that I have no intention of wearing! Only a few ever get worn, and only half of those get worn outside of the house!

Some stay in a drawer because of their tacky design (Um...the naked-with-symbol-guitar photo...), but others remain unworn because they're old and were very expensive.
