Coolest song What would be your choice of coolest song ever?
I'm probably gonna get torn to bits for this but for me it's Stayin' Alive by ye Bee Gees. I reckon this song will live forever (as will many others obviously,) there's just something about that bass line and those beautiful strings (which some people have never noticed!?!) The song also has a certain drive to it that is rare as if they were always trying to push ahead of the beat. Magical. | |

Well..this could take all day...but for some reason anything by Sade comes to mind right now..."COOL" in the sense of just lying back, relaxing and having her cd on full blast! "Sweetest Taboo" , "King of Sorrow", etc... | |

You know what Harlepolis, you're right...
Muse 2 The Pharoah is a pretty damn cool song... I'm not saying I totally agree with all that he's saying, but still...it's a Cool-Jazz-relax-chill out kinda tune... "...with the ebony and milk of her thighs...is she could be muse..."

Purleeazze, NOT the dreaded Bee Gees!  Man, they give me the heeby-geebees (shudder!); they r so utterly soulless & hopelessly overrated. I'll come clean here & admit i actually like 1 of their songs  (Dorian hangs head in shame),How Deep Is Your Love, though i just about choke on its lyrics!
I'll plump 4 "The Girl From Ipanema" by Jobim & Gilberto. PS. Not flaming ur taste in music, Cloudbuster; each 2 their own! In any case, i'm in no position 2 criticise any1 when it comes 2 music, as i am renowned 4 my dodgy lack of taste (some of the supposed all-time greats leave me stone cold eg. Grateful Dead, Eagles, Doors, Beach Boys & of course the Bee Gees). | |

The song perfectly captures the struggle to "stay alive" and not let the world bring you down.There is a sense of desperation to the lyrics and Barry Gibb's vocal delivery.My favorite part is the ending segment where they trade off the lines "Life going nowhere,somebody help me,somebody help me yeah..."I'm Stayin' Aliiivvveee"  | |
