Parts of Prince songs I don't dig wouldve been easier but it'd still take me a while...
I like all the 1s mentioned.

* instrumental solo of LRC
* several parts of When Doves Cry, including the beginning sound of guitar, the instrumental solo that extends for 3 minutes and takes me to the end with that neat little synthesizer note. * (as someone said previously) the last minute of "The Beautiful Ones (that's Passion with a capital "P", my friends) * Kiss when Prince says "act your age, not your shoe size" (always makes me laugh) * the chorus of "Gold" * the end of "Eye Hate U" * the extended instrumental solo halfway thru "Te Amo Corazon" had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

Just off the top of my head...
*The intro to "Can't Stop This Feeling I Got." ( His sexy deep voice). *The intro bass in "And God Created Woman". *The guitar solo in "Xenophobia." (One Night Alone). *The last second in "Scarlet Pussy." (The bass and the growl). *The beginning of "Calhoun Square." (... 2,3, babay). *Cindy C. ("I'm talking 'bout a long crucial play, girl if I have to pay I'm gonna get you in your birthday suit tonight. I'm sure you're intelligent a whiz in math and all that sh*t but I'm a tad more interested in flying your kite tonight.") That line just makes me laugh. This can take all day. There's a little something in every Prince song that I really dig. Especially when he talks in that sexy deep voice.

Out of the blue, some parts that immediately come to mind:
* The bridge near the end of Mia Boca (as performed by Jill Jones), just after the orchestra stops, only an abstract, electronic beat, and near the end when the beat of the drummachine gets distorted. Prince shows his strength here as a brilliant arranger, understanding the use of dynamics. * Crystal Ball (the original version with Wendy and Lisa), after the orchestra swells 'big time' the song returns to its basic motif: the drummachine, Princes creepy sounding vocals, eerie strings coming up in the background again. It sounds bleak and desperate. * Lovesexy: the joyfull release of musical energy during the lines 'rain is wet, sugar is sweet, clap your hands and stomp your feet'. * Thieves in the temple (long version): the frantic part with the girl moaning, Rosies background vocals, and the syncopated drummachine. * The final chorus of 'Dolphin': the way those background vocals mix with the lead vocals and the guitar playing. * Those 'interlocking' keyboards on Party Up, combining chords and notes for a long time. One of his best inventions 'funkwise', he has used this effect a lot after that, for example on Automatic and Musicology. * The funky synth-bridge on the song "Around in the world a day", quite a surprise hearing such an 'old-style' Prince element in this song, and it works fabously, giving the song an extra energy boost. * The ending of The Dawn (acoustic version), that distorted vocal on "welcome to the daaaawwwnnn", and then the dry sounding "thank you". * The finale of "She's always in my hear", that typically exhalted Prince vocals, the drummachine running loose, the psychedelic sound effects surrounding it. * Wendy and Lisa background vocals during the last verse and chorus of "Do U lie", very beautifull, pure and wonderfully contrasting Prince almost campy delivery of the lead vocals.

One addition here:
* Hot Thing: the way Eric Leeds comes in during the first saxophone solo, is amazing, like the devil is at his heels, so much energy and conviction in his delivery!

Here's a few I came up with, courtesy of "Purple Rain"
* the last minute of "The Beautiful Ones" (we've spoken of this b4) * the lengthy guitar solo in "Computer Blues" (I got nuts for it-- lasts from 2:19 to 3:31) * the instrumental solo at the end of "I Would Die 4 U" after he stops singing Here are a few others * the rap in "Incense and Candles" * the part of "Musicology" after he finishes singing and that part when they "mess with his stereo" where they add another instrument to the mix. * the last 10 seconds of "Musicology" when Prince says "dont U ever touch my stereo" and plays segments of his past songs * the last minute of "A Million Days" (reminds me of my * about TBOs) * the lengthy guitar solo halfway thru "Te Amo Corazon" that's what I got so far. [Edited 3/23/07 16:31pm] had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone
