My email to NPGMC

In the Interest of being kept fully up to date with exactly what it means to be a member of the NPGMC, here is the email I've just sent them regarding this mornings concert ticket fiasco.

If you have emailed them, I'd like to hear what you had to say, and if you get a reply, what they had to say.

###

From NPGMC member 'gambool':

What is the ratio of NPGMC UK members to the number of UK concert passes available from NPGMC?

From the farce that occurred this morning, I would suggest that one by far out-weighs the other. Like many fans, I signed up to your club due to the incentive of 'members-only presale oppor2nities'. And, like many other fans, I spent an hour and a half this morning trying to access your website to buy these 'members-only presale oppor2nities', only to finally get advised that they were sold out.

Is this the best that you can come up with? Keep signing up members by offering them incentives, and then completely fail at providing these to your members. Surely it doesn't take that much to work out that if you have X number of members, you potentially have a demand of 2X number of concert passes. So why offer these incentives if you blatantly neglect even attempting to provide them?

So I ask again, what is the ratio of NPGMC UK members to the number of UK concert passes available from NPGMC?

I feel a reply is in order to the numerous fans who are left in the same position as me, questioning exactly what it means to be a Prince fan?

I look forward to your reply,

gambool.

Sounds like common sense to me. Let us know the respose.

I was less diplomatic. I told them what they can do with their "Club".

You might not want to be so confrontational & accusational right from the get go. A peaceful solution with minimal bad blood...what's wrong with that. But of course, when they come back at you with a reponse like "Betta luck 2 u next tyme. Long live da funk." Bite their heads off as best you can.

I think this is an important letter. It is way more important that someone take the time to figure out the ratio of members to tickets sold rather than come up with a solution to this problem. The ratio issue is way more important. I hope NPGMC rushes back to you with the info because once you have that info everything will be fine -right?

Do they ever respond fo "fams"? It's true, NPG-MC is growing worldwide...you would have to see how many tickets were made available period...not according to how many Brit fans there are.

Exactly, fight NPGMC is growing. And clearly fight NPGMC is commiting themselves to way too much. The fact that it took me 2 hours to get into the website indicates exactly how many other people are trying to get in.

So when you've got that many members gunning for the pre-sale opportunitites that the website clearly touts, you better make sure that you can cope with demand. And clearly the fight NPGMC cannot cope. Not only did their website virtually die for 2 hours, but the amount of tickets was clearly insufficient for the demand.

fight NPGMC is still taking on new members, and still plastering the fantastic benefits of becoming a member all over its website. Either you limit the number of members that you sell membership to, or you start putting up the goods that you've offered. fight NPGMC are doing neither. More and more people will join, and more and more people will become dissapointed when they can't get tickets.

I didn't stump up $100 dollars so I could enter a race against other members to chase a handful of tickets. I paid because of the benefit that 'ALL 2002 members will B able 2 buy tickets 2 days before the general public'. But that is not what I got, and that is not what others after me will get. Not until fight NPGMC sort things out, anyway.

That's so sweet of you Dan hug ... I do feel sorry for a lot of people who joined the club, but not for myself ... I went in with my eyes open and knew it was a risk. I didn't really trust that I'd get what I was paying for, but I still joined, cos I was willing to take a gamble. I still hope that npgmc will come up trumps, having emailed some of us ... in that case, I'll eat my words and humbly apologise. But, honestly, it's what I expected, sad to say.

I advise you to take the more diplomatic approach. The shows are for october, so there could still be enough time to make arrangements with members who are now left out.

Man, Prince & NPG could care less about your troubles. Dude they got your $100.00 bucks in the bank and your SOL!! Remember that there was no GUARANTEE that you were going to get tickets to the show, you were allowed a CHANCE to get prereserved tickets; and thus I doubt that you will get anything (but never fret you will get 4 CD`s from the NPGMC this year lol ). I feel for you bro but that is the joy of capitalism.

How many times are members supposed to be diplomatic, polite, and reasonable with NPGMC? They're beyond any benefit of the doubt or growing pains. They should have pulled their sh*t together a long time ago. People have a right to be mad.

You will still be in a race against other members even if you do get tickets. You have to get to the venue as early as you can in a race against other members for the best seats. Judging from the posts on this site, its looks like there's a lot of NPGMC club members in London. Somebody better get to the venue early and try to organize the club members in line so no pushing or fighting breaks out.
