WTF IS THIS??? Okay so, last week I picked up the news paper and there were pictures of Prince with this group that was going 2 play this weekend.
They played yesterday here in Nuevo Laredo, and they r in the news paper again... repeating over and over that they worked with Prince. The lead singer said: Con ritmos mezclados de blues, pop y salsa se va a grabar un disco en inglés con el artista estadounidense Prince en este año.
Which means, Mixing rhytms of blues, pop and salsa an album is going 2 b recorded with Prince this year
Is this even true??? (I hope I posted this in the right forum ) . [Edited 3/11/07 10:58am]

Perhaps you can provide some more information: what was the name of the group, or who were the members of the group? In which newspaper was this reported? ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

They're great!
I would love it if P makes an album with them ( sounds better than the beatles rumour ) [Edited 3/11/07 11:49am]

I've often referred to Prince's music as "muy caliente".

What do you mean WTF is this? I mean what is the distress about? So what he's recording an album with this group. My first guess is that he would be producing it and playing on a few tracks.

And even then, they might never be released. . . ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Apparently, they were Prince's backing band for his Golden Globes party. I hadn't heard that. This is from their website:
So here’s the deal with the GF Golden Globes story-we recieved a call this past Sunday to be in LA in 24 hours to play Prince’s afterbash, other details were to come in as we got there. While in LA we found out Prince was not taking his band, he was to play with us!! Yes, we were beside ourselves but nonetheless prepared for what was to be one of the greatest MUSICAL nights in our career.
The scene at the party? If you’ve watched any sensationalist celebrity TV stuff, they were right, it was THE exclusive party to be at, A list and A+ list celebrities packed into a suite at the Beverly Wilshire hotel, etc etc. Look it up somewhere for a full list… To back up and give you all a little bit of Fantasma history, we started out playing all night house parties for free beer where people packed like sardines into living rooms went bananas. Our experience at the Golden Globes “gig?” Well, we packed into the corner of a living room on the floor (no stage) with Prince leading us on guitar on one side of us. We proceeded to rock the party with Prince ripping it up on guitar most of the night. We played a good majority of our set but ended up going into super extended James Brown jams while will.i.am (Black Eyed Peas), Mary J. Blige and Talib Kweli all sat in at various points. We then bust into a few Fania songs and had Marc Anthony channel Hector Lavoe while Prince continued to wail on his legendary Fender Tele. To call this all surreal to us would be a huge understatement. The crowd was losing it just like house parties of yesterday, only the “crowd” that night was J.Lo (right in front of us, an amazing dancer), dude from Entourage, P. Diddy, Justin Timberlake, Salma Hayek, Jamie Foxx, Cuba Gooding Jr.(climbed a speaker rocking out), etc etc etc! Someone even saw Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat, Ali G) dancing in the hall! It was an amazing night of music and we are still in shock that it happened. We did what we always show up to do, turn the party out. Hope to see you all at the next gig and thank you all for your continued support. I'm from Austin, TX (where they are based) but live in Dallas. I need to see them ASAP cuz they must be the bomb if Prince is feeling them THIS much. He's REALLY got a thing for Texas talent lately because, Tamar, Cora, and Josh are all from Houston, TX. Now, if only the Longhorns could win the the Final Four. . .

I said "WTF is this" 'cause I didn't know if it was true or not... this newspaper doesn't have that much credibility... it's gross And most of the times wrong
