In general, maybe. But in the context of the Tamar album, I would not consider that lying. I believe when he announced the release dates (on SNL and later on GMA) they/he had the intention that it would truly be released. Something happened to make him change his mind, or the record not be released--maybe it was Tamar's decision...who knows.

Lying is deliberately misleading someone or saying something you know is false, but I'm guessing you're all to familiar with that definition. wink
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

of course...who isnt? But if you mean about the things hes planned 2 do not materializing....I think he really thought it was gonna happen and it just...didnt shrug I doubt he would tell Tamar "your cd is going 2 come out this year"...just 2 hurt her or set her back.I think he really wants the things he says 2 happen.

I definately have to agree with this statement. You're right. There's no way he said that intending on hurting her and lie in the future. things come up, yadayada. maybe SHE did something wrong? you have to look OUTSIDE the box and even when you do that you still may never find the correct answer

That's an interesting thought. I didn't realize he paid that much attention to Tamar's sex life. CD lol

As usual, you have unsuccessfully tried to twist mine. As for your point, it's hidden better than a needle in a haystack...if you even had one to begin with.

Plans change, that's the nature of things, and even Prince doesn't always have final say on what does and doesn't get released, there's give and take involved. So 'liar' is kinda pushing it a tad dontcha think?

I'm sure it was a purely business-oritentated decision that wasn't made lightly. Tamar certainly doesn't seem to be resting on her laurels. I say get over it already - she has.

Sh*t happens.

Damn Gray...Dude, you're annoying as hell!! I mean, why try and "manuever" a response instead of asking a legitimate question? rolleyes

From what I gathered from the title of the post, you were asking if Prince was a "liar". That's a question, right? Then, when people begin to answer the question, (see initial response above), you then make a statement of them "missing the point"?!? Huh?!? Is there a point to be made in asking your question, or again...are you trying to evoke the kind of response YOU want? Get over yourself already...

I don't have any kind of personal problem with you persay. But DAMN you are frustrating! It's kind of like when your wife asks you to...say...take out the trash when you get the chance...but then gets all bent because you didn't rush right out to do it. Stop playing mind games with us already!! If you want the trash taken out, tell us!! It's easier to do it then to hear you bitch about us not...dig?

Anyway...is Prince a liar? Of course not. To asnwer your question, I don't believe he had any real control of that project from the beginning. He (as was Tamar) were contracted w/Universal. Contrary to what we'd like to believe, P doesn't ALWAYS pull the strings...

Just my 2 cents.

E V E R Y thing does not have 2 be spelled out but I'll give it a shot.
1. It was a legit question.
2. Of course Prince is NOT a liar as it relates 2 his intentions/plans but things change QUICKLY in Prince's environment and u are left with a bunch of whiney ass fans crying about what he did or did NOT do based on his announced plans.
3. My response 2 the genius who missed the point was in reference 2 another thread.
4. Prince's new approach is the best one yet. U will get, what u get, when u get it.
GET it?

You referred to me as a genius. touched Finally some recognition! biggrin

But see the problem? Why respond to something on this thread when you're really referring to something on a different thread...that tends to confuse some people. (I knew you were talking about my post, but it was kinda dumb to to refer to it on this thread.)

Not speaking for Graycap, but I think he was just trying to see how many would give the usual knee-jerk responses without thinking about the situation put forth.

***** Prince is disappointing bcuz doesnt know what means respect 4 other ones. Somebody who does million of promises but NEVER KEEPS one is a LIAR in my opinion.
Think about what he did during is career....

Prince will just reap what he has sown... this worth 4 EVERYBODY, 4 him too!
