What rock song would you like to hear Prince remake?

I personally have a few like Cream's "Sunshine Of Your Love", Three Dog Night's "Joy To The World", Kiss's "Lick It Up" and "I Was made For Loving You", Rolling Stone's "Brown Sugar", and AC/DC's "Back In Black".
Peace and be wild!

I'd rather hear him take a non rock song and make it into one...the way Jimi did with Watchtower.

He does not need to remake anyone else's rock songs, he can do his own...jmo

Although I LOVED the Foo Fighters song (Best of You) he did at the S.B. That was great guitar

Ever since I saw his acoustic set on the Musicology tour I've had a strange desire to hear him do "More Than Words" by Extreme.

Pour Some Sugar on Me

COME ON! Ya'll ladies would EAT THAT SHIT UP if Prince sang that song and did a concert performance.

Imagine Prince singing "I'm hot, sticky sweet, from my head, to my feet."

That's got Prince's cockiness and ego written all over it!

That's PERFECT song for him to cover!
The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

Rock on;
just about any stones tune;
shook me all night long by ac dc;
i would like to hear sittin on the dock of the bay;
any marvin gaye cover would be nice;
he could also cover any blues guitarist and i'd be happy;
CCR cover?
The Weight would be a good song for him;
Do right woman/man would be a good cover tune to do

just a few suggestions

Yeah, I prefer that he do his own material. It sounds so much better because you know he put his heart & soul into it. It's kinda hard to describe, but the performance is just so much better when he does his own material.

I'd love to hear him play "Treat Her Like a Lady" by The Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose. The lyrics are probably too chauvanistic for Prince nowadays, but the tune is FON-KAY and he could tear it up, no doubt!

I noticed a couple of Queen songs mentioned. That started me off on an interesting train of thought (which I won't bore you with), ending with the conclusion that I would personally rather hear him do one of Queens earlier more "creative" works - probably off of one of their first two albums. If nothing else but for the simple fact that they were so much more vocally demanding. But also because, given the instrumentation and intricate production quality, I think that it would be alot of fun for him. All said, I've always thought that those albums were so very underrated, and he's one of the very few who could really do justice to a song like "The Fairy Fellers Master Stroke" or "The March Of The Black Queen".

Good thread!

Not rock but... I'd love to hear Prince seriously tackle something from Joni Mitchell's peak (something off of Hissing Of Summer Lawns, Hejira or Don Juan's Reckless Daughter).
