Question About The "America" Video And this has always bugged me...
In the very beginning of the video, the guy who introduced the band...is that Steven Berkoff, Isaac Sharon in Under The Cherry Moon? It looks just like him and Prnce was filming UTCM at the time...anyone know for sure? chaos96 "Because when you say annihilation my friends, you've said all there is to say" - Henry Rollins

You mean the actor that played the mean father of the leading lady?
I don't think it was. I remember hearing the announcer with a heavy French accent and darker hair which he did not have. The actor had greyish hair.

Never bugged me. I just thought it was an "ordinary" guy. Who knows though? Maybe it's Steve Fargnoli, Prince's manager? He was there that day. I haven't seen the video in a long time, though I've watched it a lot. Let us know if you find out.

This is certainly one of LIL MAN's most exciting video. Something to behold...indeed. An excellent performance video. A video like this on MTV now would be a breath of fresh air.

I don't think there will ever be a video like that on MTV. Everything has to be slicked out now, over candied, glossed with all that materialism and faux sexiness. A sign of what corporitization of popular music has done to the artform. Sad isn't it. At least we still have Prince's upcoming DVD to look forward to. And Saffireseven! Girl, you be in foa' treet child! See the America video, THEN don't tell me Lenny, Maxwell or D-Angeleo are amazing performers!
