Well, is Prince the cleanest artist of our times ?.
There have been almost no reports of substance abuse or addiction coming from the Prince camp, ever !!!
IN fact, he has always given out a subtle message condemning the use of intoxicants,
Can we think of anyone else with such a clean lifestyle ?

As for Madonna, I dont think she's THAT clean. Though she's not a heavy drinker by far, she seems to enjoy the very occasional drink when shes having fun. And while she's never dabbled in hard drugs, I read that she smoked pot a couple of times during the mid 90s (one notably being as part of "research" for a film).

I'd say Janet Jackson is pretty clean as well, as is Moby(who goes as far as being a veggie)

It's only been rumored about Prince using ecstacy nobody's ever proven it. I thought you meant 'clean' dress wise and yes Prince is the best dressed artist of our time. "Everywoman's crazy bout a Sharp Dressed Man"!

no, i'd say maybe Bruce. Prince has reputed to be a wine drinker and people who were close to him could swear that he was on something in the late 80's. Part of me does believe that rumor that he wanted to pull the "Black Album" before its release because it was a result of a bad trip on ectasy... but cuz it's on Wikipedia...

The FAQ section says that his representatives have confirmed the rumors to be true, but I still have my doubts because it was never directly from his lips. I'm not as liable to believe anything unless Prince personally confirmed it.

If it wasn't an ectasy trip, there probably was a reason why he pulled the album initially, because he wasn't as confident with it. That part of his career in the 90's was really shaky for him, so I guess he had his reasons to have doubts about it.


Anyway, compared to a lot of artists, yes, I'd say he is one of the cleanest. Which makes him even more great because he came up with all of that beautiful poetry completely clean.
