I love both songs, but i think "Still Would Stand All Time" has more passion and feeling, so it gets my vote. I also may be tainted because i like the live version from "Small Club, 2nd Show" | |

TLWM is quite ethereal and i love when Prince gets that vibe going but so is SWSAT; but that's got a lot of gospel and blues in it. plus he goes off key intentioanlly just b4 the break down. oooh this is hard.....  | |

No contest for me, "The Love We Make"
I always related this lyric with the situation at the time with the baby: Precious is the baby with a mother, That tells him that his saviour is coming soon. Man that always gets me.

Never liked Still Would Stand All Time, Didn't like it in 1990 still don't like it now, probably one of my very least favourite Prince songs.
The Love We Make I can take or leave but that puts it streets ahead if it's a head to head competition for my own tastes. " A mind changed against its will, is of the same opinion still" | |

I am quite surprised to see people choose The love we make above Still Would stand all time here.
First because, i think the vocals of 'Still' show much more passion. Second, because the music / arrangement of 'Still' is more surprising: like something from 'Pet Sounds' by the Beach Boys meets a gospel ballad. | |

Definitely "Still Would Stand All Time". Not just out of these two; SWSAT is one of my favourite Prince songs of all time - just find it very uplifting and emotionally charged. Love "The Love We Make" too, but SWSAT definitely shades it for me..... Everybody is special. Everybody. Everybody is a hero, a lover, a fool, a villain. Everybody. Everybody has their story to tell. |
