Why is this? The most beatiful Girl is Prince's only #1 in Britain and was huge in the US. The same with Batdance, #1 hit. Does Prince not like it? I think Scandalous is on one of Prince's best of albums...not sure though.

Correct, the producers/d.c comics has the rights to that song, while Prince owns the masters for tmbgitw, and i am quite sure Prince is not going to let Warners profit off of that

Plus, around the time of Ultimate being released (or non-released as it happened first), I remember reading that Warners only have the rights to stuff upto the album for compilations, but I couldn't say if that was accurate or not without someone else confirming it (it seems perfectly reasonable/logical though).

Thanx! One reason I would like those two songs on a best of album is because I like the single versions. Also, I think the single version of MBGITW is much better than on the Gold CD. The arrangement is quite different.
