I didn't know Prince played guitar

Which 5 sounds would U tell me 2 listen 2 so they understand how good Prince is @ playing guitar?

I would say:

1. I Could Never Take the Place of Ur Man
2. The Ride
3. The Morning Papers
4. Temptation
5. Computer Blue

The conversation wouldn't get that far.

2. His performance on One nite alone dvd of "whole lotta love" (i think that is the title)
3. Any live rendition of Purple Rain w/the wailing guitar solos
4. The Musicology acoustic set he did on MTV/BET/VHI in 2004
5. The Fury performance on SNL last year.

As far as I'm concerned, "Purple Rain" is all you need to hear to know that Prince is brilliant at guitar.

On more than one occasion, when he plays it live, he makes it sound so beautiful. So much that I nearly melt.

Well, if you like this person.
Don't play them any thing. Take them to one of his many upcomming shows.
(oh he's gonna tour, oh yeah.)
Strap that fool in a seat & when he comes out with his guitar you smile.
If this can't be done, get a copy of both Purple Rain & Sign 'O the Times
(DVD or VHS) When he comes out with his guitar smile.

If you don't like this person. Roll your eyes & say end of conversation. Lol

2.) Purple Rain (Live version perferrably because he ALWAYS extends the guitar solo )

3.) Fury (SNL Version that was smokin hot!)

4.) Let's Go Crazy (Intro is all that is needed here)

5.) Holy River (The guitar solo in this song is freakin phenom.....I remember looking at my stereo the first time I heard this like holy S&^T.....did he just play that)
