Question about Parade I just thought of this today. I understand, of course, where the title of "Parade" comes from but why is it called "Parade"? Why is the album not just called "Under the Cherry Moon: The Original Soundtrack" like every other soundtrack album? I was wracking my brain trying to think of other soundtracks that were not simply named after the film they came from and couldn't think of a whole heck of a lot.
Just questions to fill the void until new product comes out... All good things they say never last... | |

my theory is that....perhaps Prince was scared that the film would bomb (it was a risky project,after all) and so he wanted the soundtrack to stand on its own? By calling it 'Parade',it would be treated like a Prince album.If he had called it 'Under The Cherry Moon:Motion Picture Soundtrack',it would have been treated like a soundtrack.

yup, from the getgo it was talked about as "Prince's next album will INCLUDE music from the motion picture", etc... like it was a normal album that just happened to have UTCM music on there, as well. | |
