I saw him around 1993 in NYC at Radio City Music Hall during the Act 1 tour. During the concert he walket to his right side and jumped up and on the speakers and eventually he walked down the way he came. On the way down he just simply slipped and and mis-stepped and fell. He finished the song and abruptly the show was stopped for 5 minutes while stage crew came out and wiped up the stage dry. You could tell he was not happy. Hey he's human.

I posted this in another thread the other day but it's so funny to me I don't mind repeating myself Prince was doing an aftershow at Club 1150 in Atlanta a few years ago - I can't remember the tour - and he let Chuck D and some other guy get up and rap or sing or do something that no one was interested in and so the guy said something that I don't think Prince was too hip on. Prince started to walk off to the left of the stage doing his little fast paced, slightly John Travolta looking, strut in his heels and right when he got to the bald security guy you heard those heels make this sound that only most women know, the one where your heels lose grip and go sliding and you bust your ass..The man was down. The bald security guy had this "Oh SHIT!" look on his face because he didn't catch him. But as fast as he went down, he was up and gone..Most everyone around me was concerned and worried and kept saying "ah man I wonder if he is gonna come back and play anymore tonight?". But as for myself, I was screaming w/ laughter!!!
I also saw him get his red sparkely outfit stuck on his high heel during the Hit N Run tour in ATL and he almost landed right on me. But he played it off and did a lil dip on the floor w/ the mic so if you weren't right there if front of him you wouldn't have noticed..However, if that man would have fallen on me, I would have packed his short lil self right over my shoulder and RAN. He would still be missing today. ....."Billy Idol gets it!".........

I was like this can't be. I was hoping my musical hero was ok. I was really upset since I had floor seats. Once we got 2 the Forum there were thousands of people in the parking lot and streets all hyped up 2 see Prince. Limos were everywhere; the Forum was all lit up in Purple lights. So many people were unaware of the cancellation. People were shocked as well as me that his show was cancelled. I met these 2 girls that had flown in from Europe just 2 see him and told them the news. They were so shocked and had this unbelievable look on there face. I really felt bad 4 them.
While standing in line 2 purchase tickets (Mine u, I had great seats because I was right there the day tickets went on sale) I met this one lady who was seeing Prince 4 the first time. She said her young daughter in her early twenties was a big fan of Prince. Her room everything was Prince, said she was going on behalf of her daughter who had recently died (R.I.P.) in a car accident. She said this is what her daughter would have wanted her 2 do. I was so hoping 2 see the mother at the concert since we were in line together and would have set next 2 each other. Could someone please let me know what year this happened.... I was there. I had flown in to visit a friend, and of course he and his girlfriend pick me up from the airport and we head straight to the concert only to find the mayhem of the cancellation. I heard he tripped over the mic stand and fell flat on his face back in the day and there is a picture somewhere of it!

On one of the Lovesexy concerts at Wembley Arena, something happened. Not 100% sure if he fell, as we didn't have the best seats in the house. But during the first half, just after (I think) Dirty Mind, he dissapeared abruptly from site and a rather loud clatter came as his microphone banged across the stage. The band played on, but when Prince picked his mic up, he said "Sorry". So that could be a fall indeed! Sometimes, the world's a storm...

The performance where the mike busted his grill was during "Baby I'm a Star" at the American Music Awards right after Purple Rain came out.

Anybody remember him whacking himself in the cheek with the mic from one of his patented mic maneuvers at either the Grammys or AMAs? He had a red mark on the side of his face. I think it was the same night of the We Are The World recordings. Cornbread, Grits, and Collard Greens/I got what you need/If you want it/Cuz I'm a pimp, girl/With a drippy, juicy Jheri Curl

I remember him sliding across the stage, and thinking, "that's pretty ballsy." It would be soo easy to fall.
I saw maybe his first show after hurting his ankle. You could tell he was in pain, but he was still trying to move & get up on top of the piano. At one point he made it a dance move, on his back, leg in the air holding his ankle in exaggerated pain. It was a very short show, too, partially because of Larry, Chaka & the curfew at the Concord Pavillion But during Purple Rain he mentioned how when something like an injury happens it makes him think of stopping performing altogether, but his wife made him all better. aww! LOL. That's what the funny part is - not that he hurt himself. I laugh at people when they fall; I laughed at my own mother once when she fell. I agree that it's not funny if someone gets hurt, but the look of being so surprised that someone has when they are falling is hysterical to me - I don't mean to offend anyone.

That was it! Actually, that was the Grammys. He played Purple Rain at the AMAs that year and it went off without a hitch. One no one has posted: The Jan 4, 1985 Atlanta Purple Rain show. During Baby I'm A Star, Prince had a mike with a cord for some reason. He went to run across the stage and tripped over the cord. While he caught himself, it was painfully obvious that he almost hit the stage face first!

Lovesexy tour in Norway, The concert was outside and it rained a lot. Once when Prince was dancing he fell badly(big part of the stage was very wet) but he tried to hide it by making the fall into a split. He did it well so maybe some people didnt notice! I am so happy this didnt happen again at the Superbowl. I guess the split would probably not have been an option!

I'm not sure if it's that so much as it's a reminder of people's "regular-ness".Everyone falls--most of us not when tens of thousands are watching, though. I've often wondered the same thing... Funny, I've lurked for awhile, and this is actually the first time I've been compelled to post... Thanks for the thought-provoking--although chuckle-inducing--question. I wish I was around for the thread where this was bought up previously. I'm a huge fan,but who can watch all that running around, splitting, and jumping, and not wonder...?
