Do you have an all time favorite Prince concert? Either something you've witness in person or via bootleg or tv appearance?

You always have a special place in your heart for the first one. And for me, that was Lovesexy. I'll never forget it.
But every concert of his I've seen has been amazing, one of a kind, and incredible. That said, I have another favorite concert memory. At the Jam of the Year concert, I was kind of close to the stage and dancing, and he saw me and gave me a look like "Give it up, white boy." Then he smiled at me. I thought that was totally cool.

My first concert was Parade at Wembley, London in 1986 but my favourite concert was Lovesexy at the same venue 1988 - it blew my mind I have never experienced anything like it since!
That said a very close second was the final night at Hammersmith in 2002 where I had the soundcheck, concert and aftershow (5hrs of Prince live), just awesome! 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

ONA at Hammersmith was the best for me despite the lengthy wait to get in to the soundcheck(!) Performance was awesome and being in a relatively small setting in the NPGMC area was cool. Nude tour, D&P tour at Wembley/Earls Court (can't remember) and the Wembley Stadium gig pale into significance to ONA. ...and I have the boot to remember it by.

i can't say which show i've seen that i like best. when he does good shows, they're consistently good, so they all stand out. the only time i saw him and was a LITTLE underwhelmed was the jam of the year tour...but even that was a cool show. i saw him at jones beach and he made his entrance playing guitar on the back of a motorboat. that was way too cool.

The first is always special and mine was Parade in '86 - and even he seemed to be having more fun on that tour then he has since.
The best would have to be Lovesexy two years later - the most powerful live music experience I've ever had. The tours since then have been more up and down affairs, although it's always good to see and hear him.

Musicology Houston, August 8, 2004. My daughter got onstage and absolutely killed. She and Prince sang a duet on "Take Me With U". Man, the ONE concert no one recorded...
Best performance by Prince that I've ever seen was Tamar, Houston 2006. The guitar playing was other-worldly.

Lovesexy. Without a doubt. I always look back on the summer of '88 with a smile. 4 once here in the UK we had good summer weather. Even though the concerts I went 2 were all inside Wembley Arena, the sunshine so helped this wonderful atmosphere. It was my first concert, and I remember, as a young man then, almost wanting 2 cry - I was just so sweapt up in the emotion. I awlays used to watch concerts on the TV, and used 2 laugh when I saw people fainting, but when the light went out, and the first "dum-dumdum' of Erotic City smashed the air, I could understand Y people do. Happy 2 say that I didn't, but a rather burley man a few rows in front did! His friends where very unsympathetic 2 him. Winderful memories. Sometimes, the world's a storm...

Got to say Lovesexy Madison Square Gardent in NYV Oct 88. He was on fire from the car driving around the stage to the first bass line in Erotic City to the bluesy If I had a harem to the guitar work from the "Blue Angel" to the tear jerking Purple Rain. It was a memory to hold and cherish.

I was at that show too! It was great, but I chose the Nassau Col show as the best of the three NY shows. I remember he talked a lot more during the Anna Stesia segment at the LI show, and I had great seats as well which always helps. Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"

I have to say that my first show was my favorite. It was the ONA tour in 2002, and I was 19 years old. I was a poor college student, so I had nosebleed seats, but thankfully the venue was small. I screamed and cried through the opening number, and my sister (who wasn't really a fan) was trying to calm me down! I hung on every note of the piano set, and still think about it to this day. Being in the same room with my favorite man for the first time was incredible.
The best part came after the show. My sister, who is quite the little networker, found out where Prince would be making his exit after the show. She grabbed my hand during the last song, and we ran outside. Sure enough, a few minutes later, Prince emerges (surrounded by enormous body guards) and heads to his limo. I was standing just a few yards away from him, and I was overwhelmed with joy! Everyone was calling to him, but I wanted to say something while I had the chance. I screamed, at the top of my lungs, "YOU CHANGED MY LIFE!!!!!" He paused for a moment, then stepped into his limo. My sister yelled, "Rani! He heard you, he heard you!" I wasn't sure if he really did or not, but just the thought had me walking on air. I watched his limo drive away, then floated all the way back to my car. A homeless man asked me for some money on the way, and I handed him a wad of cash from my purse. I didn't even care how much it was, because I felt so blessed that night. Hey! Imagine it was a peddalo. (I've probably totally confused you, there. I don't know what they call them in America ). I agree with your comments - it's hard to answer this as every time I've seen him, he's never failed to deliver. The only show I was a little underwhelmed by was Brixton '98 but that was because I didn't quite expect a jam session (I know better than to expect anything these days) and I wanted more Prince and less Doug E Fresh. My favourite would either be Wembley 98 (four rows from the front ), London ONA 2002 (phenomenal shows) or pick a night from the 2002 Celebration. I fammed out big style that week.

I have 3 stand out performances, 1st time I saw him, August 14th 1986, Parade tour Wembley arena. The press were saying Prince, Bruce Springsteen madonna etc were saying they wouldn't tour in Europe because of security risks, I think possibly Lockerbie air crash had just happened. I thought I'd never get the chance. Then it was announced early August that he was to play 12,13 and 14th in London, I lived 200 miles away in North Wales. I was going away for a few days and so was promised by a friend that he would sort out tickets...i got back and nothing!!! I had a couple of days to get it sorted out...I was left with tickets right at the back but i had tickets!!!! A 4 hour drive started at 9am, we arrived at 1pm and went for a walk around the arena, as we got past the 1st corner a black limo pulled up with gold plated windows, out walked the man himself!!! He turned, waved and made his way in, we listed to soundchecks for hours and were treated to an amazing set of over 2 hours, well over!! From the moment around the world in a day started to the Purple Rain/Sometimes it snows in April' encore (yes he played them both in the final encore) it was surreal...and amazing.
2 years later, having Lived through the disappointment and having received my refund for the cancelled 'Sign o the times' concerts I went to 2 Lovesexy shows, 1 at wembley and the other at Birmingham NEC.....Lovesexy Live....say no more, what a show. 3rd and other stand out performance (I've seen him 7 times in total) was the Gold Experience show at Manchester GMEX (NOT the M.E.N.) we ddin't really know the songs but he put such energy into it it didn't matter, it felt like you'd heard them all so many times...he played 'I Love You In Me' you could feel the women swoon around the arena....Unfortunately that's the last time I saw him live. 'Stuff' got in the way of the last 2 tours, never mind the divorce went through....and he didn't come to GB with Musicology (Gutted). Next GB tour....I'm there.

In person--Nov 6, 1988 at the Los Angeles Sports Arena for Lovesexy. (3rd time seeing him)
Bootleg--Stockholm, Sweden May 87--opening of Sign O The Times tour. My Prince story--For some reason, I don't remember what tour it was...I think Love4oneanother. It was at Pantages Theater in Hollywood, 1996 or 1997. I paid $350 for my ticket and sat 5th row center stage. I lit up a doobie and during "The Cross", Prince said "We all have our problems..." while pointing at the smoke rising up from my spliff. I don't think I stopped smiling for the rest of the night!
