Getting caught on the Org at work!

I have just been caught napping at my desk with the Org home page maximised to full screen on a large 22 inch monitor… The boss was not best pleased. This is what she said…

“Jon! We don’t pay you to sleep! And what on earth is this?” Pointing at the big white and purple screen. “Which Prince is that?”

“Huh?” I exclaimed dreary eyed.

“William or Harry?”

I had to laugh……

Anyone else on the Org whilst at work? Anyone else got into trouble for being on the Org at work? Anyone else have days like this where motivation for work is non existent and the Org is the only escape?

I was reading the news threads once when a colleague popped up out of nowhere and asked me something work related.

My brain wasn't fully engaged and I made a bit of slip - I think I said "Oh, I was on the phone to Prince --aahhh, Chris and he asked for this report".

Yikes!
I know u people worthless scum give no heart but wrath of insults a brain-driven wave of destruction your bite is worse than your vocabulary. Shame on you all of you. Go feed your pigs coward.

So we're all closet Prince fans?

My co-worker always busts into my office really fast to see if it's on the screen.

He's always like: "Ha! I knew you were on that Prince site!"

He could be my boss one day so maybe I should watch out.

He said he now checks it out at home because of Ben's awesome architecture.

Once, the same co-worker went home and looked up all my posts under my profile and noted the times and brought them to my attention the next day.

Silly games.

The chat has these irritating way of popping up when refreshing, making it look really silly if I am trying my best to look as if I am working hard.

Actually, the ONLY time I am here is at work. I do not own a computer myself.

Always on it, in fact on it right now at work! Not got a home computer.

Everyone knows I love Prince which they do say is strange but they just don't understand!

One day they will believe!

They are just confused, so confused!

LOL
I'm at work now and I have been busted before...One time I left the Internet on when I left. The next day the boss said "You need to limit your time and don't just sit on the Internet" Seems he is worried about missing a fax because it's on the same line LOL.
I have limited my time some and I changed the screen saver to come on after one minute now...I also keep a better look out now.

LOL!! I'm always here while I'm at work...I have a PC at home but it's a hunk a junk...well actually I just got spoiled by the nice fast T1 line connection here at work compared to my super slow 56k modem at home. I guess I've been busted so to speak but...it's not like that here...everone knows that if I'm on the net I'm on Prince.org, but everyone's on the net...just surfing out different things thats all...so...hey! screw it! LOL
but sleeping on the job?!?!?! that's not a good idea I think...lol I'm sure your boss is more upset about that than Prince.org...no?

yamomma...YIKES!! sounds like your co-worker knows a lil too much bout prince.org...you should change your username and...don't tell them what it is...sounds like they gonna use that against you someday. watch out! smile
"not a fan" falloff yeah...ok

get this..my boss put a block on all frequented sites but allowed me to keep accessing the org...

why?

well, i kept telling the office funny jokes, news and interesting tidbits o' life and would always say it came from the org...he figured the work place would be boring for *all* without it...hehehehehehe

but my co-workers are sooo jealous...they want their own special site to view too...hehehee

Sort of. I work as web designer, so as far at their concerned its just another site Im working on when they walk past and glance at my monitor.

I do make it a point to scroll down a bit to hide the big "Prince.org" logo.

I'm the project director in my office, so not only do I have Prince.org on my screen, a wallpaper featuring cover scans from Prince's catalogue from For You to Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic, but I'm blasting Prince on my speakers all day.

Folks have learned to deal with it by now smile

It wouldn't even matter... them bammas spend all day IMing each other anyway LOL. as long as the work gets done doesn't matter to me if it's done at home at night in the morning at dawn... if it's turned in on time and is quality work, I lettem do whatever.

Someday's we have MP3 dj contests... who can come up with the most obscure song, who can come up with the oldest oldie, the 80-est 80s song, etc. Then the fun stops and it's time for Prince biggrin

Naw seriously I have found that if people are having a relatively good time at work, their spirit helps them get stuff done... and it shows in their quality. So *some play* is not all that bad.

Soapstone

Thought I had a fail-safe plan, always have a HUGELY important word doc minimised and at the ready. It has worked...until today!!

I was so occupied with buying my tickets and feeling the buzz on the org that my Boss walked into my office..

My hand rushed to the mouse,

Curser flashed to the bottom left hand corner,

Where was my HUGELY important word document?

BUSTED!

Boss: "Prince Org?"

Me: "Er, I was just buying my prince tickets...Web site was a nightmare"

Boss: "You got them now though?"

Me: "Yea, just!"

Boss: "Good"

I Love my job!
