Pink Cashmere all the way...prince is best when he keeps it simple...While Crucial is a nice ditty he emotes and swings too hard to be taken seriously.
Pink Cashmere is subtle, his voice is crisp...and he uses simple lyrics and a killer (non overdubbed and layered) vocal to close the deal. thumbs up!!! [Edited 2/19/07 22:04pm] Space for sale... | |

I heard Crucial for the first time on the Crucial boot LP many years ago. Crucial is a great ballad, but actually not one of my favorite songs.
I heard Pink Cashmere for the first time while driving around town flipping through radio stations. I nearly crashed because I was so into the song, and it was one of those I knew instantly was a new Prince song. I still play Pink Cashmere regularly, but don't listen to Crucial that much. Pink Cashmere is very pretty and has a bit of melancholy to it, which is just how I like my Prince ballads. I hope that answers the question. |

For me, it's Crucial all the way. But not the released version - the full 7:15 version with the Saxaphone instead of guitar. IMHO, the saxaphone *made* that song. It's really beautiful that way | |

Two great songs and a hard Choice.
I'm going to go for Crucial but again its the long unreleased version that decided it for me, but I have always prefered the Guitar Version rather than the Sax but I still love both, even the CB version. | |
